I suppose the real question here is if I put a bucket of KFC at the end of the conveyor belt and a fat person on the conveyor belt and apply the same principle of the belt moving the same speed in the opposite direction will the fat person get the bucket of KFC. Mhmmm many factors to consider here, meditate on this I must.

Possibly, but my theory is the fat person would have their own gravitational pull so the bucket would slowly be pulled towards them anyways. Why step off they belt when you can be even lazier and just sit down and wait for it to come towards you.
As for stepping off and walking around well there's a high risk that they'd die of a heart attack, exhaustion or even starvation.
