"Konnichiwa, senor Barbero, I am Matriarch Kiri of the Gen'an Chrysanthemum Sisterhood and the woman staring at the fish is Kiwako-san, high priestess of Amaterasu. We came with the request of assistence from the Cadiz Cartel in our most ambitious project up to date.
You might have heard of our station, Kinkaku-ji. It started as a shrine base, a monument to the founder of our movement and the goddess Amaterasu wich guides us. This is why I found it important that our priestess is present here today.
After the Kusari Naval forces attacked our Shrine and our successful defence of it together with our allies, we decided it is necessary to reinforce it against future attacks. We need to strenghten the hull and we hope to get advice on how to properly reinforce it. We are not really experts on metallurgy. Perhaps a stronger alloy will be a solution
In addition to this, due to its strategic location, we wish to build a shipyard extension on the structure. This will also be of value to the Maltese, who right now have nowhere to service their vessels in our region of space. To realise this, we need to upgrade our station factory to allow the manufacturing of gunboat and capital ship parts and it needs a drydock.
when she was done speaking, she inhaled the cardamine for the hookah on the table.
Roberto listened the Matriarch - "Si, I've already been there, during one of those attacks, as a repair operator assisting our fleet.". A quick look to the priestess and the matriarch. "dunque, reinforcing the structure is not a complex problem, it can be done easier. " then, scratching his chin, thinking, "regarding the shipyard, well, we should first do some calculus to avoid consequent structural weaknesses" "Anyway, before imagine anything else, we have to check the structural map of your shrine." reaching out the hand towards the matriarch. "Do we have something here?"
The Matriarch handed over a redacted version of the blueprints of Kinkaku-ji. The blueprint showed the Sector 2 (the Shrine) in the center of the construct, with Sector 1 (The docks, trade center and embassy) around it.
Sector 3 (the fightercraft factory) was a floor below Sector 1 and 2 and was connected to the Docks with several large elevators that are capable to transport fighter and bomber class vessels.
Sector 4, the secret research facility of Kinkaku-ji was left out of the blueprints.
"How do you suggest we reinforce the inner and outer hull? We can at least begin upgrading the structural integrity of the station."
Roberto started to analyze the document - "Ok, the sector 2 has already enough stuff around.". Looking to the sector 3, "maybe here, an attack might disable easily the accessing points to reach the docks. I'd start checking if we can give more strenght to this section. If this sector is well connected under sector 2 and 1, it will give to the structure more integrity.
Then, if there are enough materials, I'd connect the whole sector 1 to the 2 covering all the edges. First with basic reinforcements, then, another floor could take position above it, like the sector 3 currently does with the below. "
Matriarch Ishikawa shood sent to Roberto and pointed at the blueprint towards sector 3
"We can reinforce the elevators. We have two cargo elevators that can transport small fightercraft incase one of them fails. Perhaps if we locate its weak points, we might prevent these flaws from coming to light later. Another thing I want to ask. Do you think integrating Niobium or Tungsten to the outer hull will give a noticable advantage?"
She looked at him and then pointed to the empty area above the station
"We have no current plans for a sector 4" She tapped the blueprint on the place where Roberto suggested a new floor. "Maybe this is where a future drydock can be built, only problem with that is a troublesome link with the factory of sector 3. I do not want a link right through the sacred shrine of Amaterasu." She looked at Kiku. "And I think neither would the high priestess."
Roberto listened - "Credo di si, I suppose. A tungsten alloy would be a strong solution, but thinking about the whole structure, well, maybe it's too much heavy, also talking about carrying it here. Niobium is lighter, but most importantly it's the best solution in terms of welding. I believe we can give a strong integrity with a good welding. I think niobium is enough. Well, if you have resources to spend, outer of tungsten and the internal weldings of niobium. Anyway, regarding the sector 4, well the sector 3 is already connected to the sector 2 above with large elevators capable of carrying bomber class, as you said before. So, if we are still talking about these classes, we can just extend the duct above, towards the sector 4, a bit of welding and it's done. If we are talking about larger stuff, I'd avoid to pass throught. Operations just from outside "
"Then I will propose to use Niobium to strenghten the structural outer hull and maybe reinforce vulnerable points with tungsten."
She pondered for abit.
"I think I know a solution for the sector 3 and 4 connection. Sector 3 will produce the parts, since it is already a functioning factory, but the parts will be assembled in sector 4, reducing the strain on the elevators."
"With a plan for the structural reinforcements against attacks and a viable upgrade to the station's ship factory, we will come a long way in the development of Kinkaku-ji. Is there any other recommendation you have to add to this?"
