Actually, I'd disagree, I wouldn't mind seeing a regen nerf...

Therefore, nerf the caps. I like them having the shield, but when they start packing Razors and Mortars with that infinite powerplant of theirs I have an issue. Get rid of the razors and mortars at the very least.

Off course everyone should be able to buy bigger ship and be immune....

NPCs don't have mortars. Only Isis has 1.

Whatever. My shields are melting like butter, and that is a BIG shield. Take the heavy weapons away.

You know big shield = easy to hit. It's "melting" due to their pulse guns.

Even manhattan docking ring can keep a BS shield down, cause it's HUGE. But it won't ever down a shield from a moving cruiser.

Sorry, npc's are actually underrated.
I want every single Titan and Sabre fully loaded with B/B and ammo.
And please increase the bomber patrols too.
Now, I would like to see Dreadnaught or Destroyer and Osiris camping Alpha or Gamma.:dry:
The RP world doesn't contain big heroes who could take down 50 ships alone.:sleep:

NPCs should be strong in Guard systems as well as in certain chokepoints (capital planet, war zones etc). Apart from there though, I agree that NPCs should be weak though, as they really don't contribute to RP. Feel free to consider this post a "/signed".

I'd go with no, perhaps adjusting them in certain areas, but nothing major.

I think changes should be done on case by case basis, meaning the players can complain that X NPCs are too Y at location Z against ship type W.

What do you expect? Them to have warm cake and milk waiting for you when you jump into the system? You're a bounty hunter, of course you're going to get pwnt in the face by a bunch of Corsairs or Outcasts, you're getting too close to their home system.

NPC's are fine, and I function completely fine on my Slave Liner when trading, or in my bomber when pirating. Just because you're in a cap ship does not make you safe, nor does it mean you can't die to a swarm of VHF's.

NPCs have a major effect on RP - that can be in RP or ooRP.

recently, i was travelling through leeds...

three hacker gunboats ( no idea why they were they - its not their ZoI at all ) - were fighting one single BAF challenger. - it happened that at about that time, a kusari battleship patrol spawned, which of course hit the three gunboats much more than the faster challenger.

another time ( also in leeds ) - there were some 5 or 6 BAF guys on one side, and 2 gaians, 2 KNF on the other side ( it was no open combat - just in bare sensor range )

however - if the BAF had decided to attack, the KNF / gaian side would not have stood a chance at all - but there was also a destroyer patrol circling stokes AND a battleship patrol.

if the BAF HAD decided to attack then..... they would have been in major trouble.




so - i am not for weakening NPCs - but i do agree that they are not players and should not be regarded to be like players. - for one, they attack carelessly but often do a lot more damage than a player. - players avoid being hit a lot better than NPCs - but NPCs in return aim better than most players - when they come in numbers, their DPS is staggering.

another good point was - NPCs respawn. - when i kill a player - the player is gone, the only way to STOP NPCs to spawn is the little trick to keep one single NPC alive. ( that will prevent respawning - unless another player enters the spawn area )

but saying that 12 titans should own a battleship, cause 12 players can do the same is .. unfair.


there are also good sides though. - in 4.84 - fighting with your own faction NPCs against an enemy player sometimes put the allied player into a disadvantage. - he wasn t able to use mines / missiles / CDs correctly, cause if he had turned his own allies red to him - they would have attacked him more than the enemy ( at least i think that NPCs prefer to turn on whoever angered them the last )

now - fleeing to your own NPCs is a good option - pulling your enemy to your own NPCs to finish him off. - the NPCs are strong.

i remember a fight with my BHG GS ( 4 BHG primary turrets that cannot drain a GB shield ) vs. a corsair GB. - gladly, i had 4 BHG hammerheads on my side that would add a LOT of dps - so we ( the NPCs and i ) dropped the GB shields and finally destroyed it.... an achievement that would never have been possible without the NPCs, no doubt there.

in 4.84 - i would have had no chance

Yes they do, but killing a cap brings you serius profit. 1.5mil for each battleship.
