Commendable start Mr. Chakotay. Commendable indeed. If only more folks who had their official status called into question responded as you have. I look forward to seeing the KoF when all this wrangling is done.
You can contact me directly via PM if you need help, I am more than happy to help a faction trying it's best.
Saint Del is considered a holy healer of diseases of children, but also as a protector of cattle.
Well, first of all get everything updated. That's a good place to start. As a thought about the KoF name thing which a lot of people seem to dislike, what about just keeping it KoF with no official meaning behind the acronym? In the future, if anyone asks, it could be fun to give each person a different answer. You know, corporate shenanigans and the like.
As a suggestion, perhaps a more specialized position? Background wise, be primarily a Mercenary organization hired by Universal (known for their supposed high risk cargo) to ensure its arrival, with the traders' position being to support the shipments of allied corporations (DSE, Ageira) more than just earning profit from the shipments (although you certainly would). Then perhaps specialize in what you ship - military materials for the LN, engine components, hull panels, nuclear devices, those sorts of heavy industrial goods. Why? Well, getting a strong identity helps with the split motives, and "KoF" sounds like they'd deal with "touch" stuff. I think Universal also works with the shipment of gate parts alongside DSE?
Diplomacy wise, Xenos probably shouldn't be enemies if you're working with Universal, as they're supporting them. Rheinland would probably be more hostile now with everything going on, and if you do support Liberty's industry, the Order would probably be unfriendly/neutral.
Looking at the anti-piracy idea, while it makes sense, given the ID, you should specify it being only in Liberty. Let BowEx/Samura/etc/etc deal with the equivalent in other Houses, unless it's in a convoy setting. Going out of your way is just wasting resources while helping the business competition.
Just some thoughts - good luck sorting everything out!
' Wrote:Separate question: How does Weapons Dealing at Trenton outpost fit into all this?
To answer your question, as I am the factions "Weapons Dealing guy", it is to get more profit into the KoF by expanding into different types of business that all can benefit from.
The KoF is experimenting with different weapons for many years now. We have developed special technology to improve our weapons systems and our fighting ships. Now we our experimenting with the Sirius Stock Exchange and want to see the interest in the citizens of Sirius for our weapons that we developed special to have greater damage output and less power intake. Our goal is to provide the citizens with quality weapons at a low price, and figure what they like and want more of so we can mass produce more of the same weapons.
[1] The KoF seem not to know what their role is. What are you? Traders? Military? Smugglers? Pirates? I've seen you acting within all of these roles.
[2] Especially you acting like unlawfuls bothers me. Not only that whole "baby eating" incident, but also the many occasions of smuggling, not obeying orders given to you by the LSF or the Navy, etc.
[3] Sorry, but from what I've seen so far, "[KoF]" and "Roleplay" are almost polar opposites...most of the time, I've seen you either powertrading quietly (and going to places you shouldn't even know about), and when somebody *makes* you talk you sprout nothing but OOC (if you're really lucky, you *may* get an attempt at roleplay which usually fails because of what I've mentioned at [1]).
[4] A new ID certainly is necessary. You are *not* Universal Shipping. Or at least not acting like them.
[5] You are viewing yourself (and acting) as a "clan". There are no clans on this server. There are RP factions.
[6] Some of your guys do not even know the server rules. Seriously, a player faction should be something for new players to look up to, not something to see and to think "am I really on a RP server?".
[7] I've got the feeling that most of your members aren't members of other factions as well. Make multi-factioning a requirement. Learning from each other is important here, but it does not happen when all the people you regularly fly with have pretty much the same RP skills as you do - none.
