Thank you all for your wonderful comments. They are most appreciated, but I am sad to say the decision to leave this game or not is on the razor's edge. Ill explain very frankly why.
I came from world of warcraft, and I played it since release. It appeal was fairly simple rp wise, you can do whatever rp you want and if others dont like it they can get a hit on your or the more common /ignore. The pvp was balanced and you were not discouraged from getting the best weapon you could but rather encouraged to min max (I acctually enjoyed striving for what would work best). The pvp came in a few different flavors and no one could get you in trouble for it unless you were greifing.
I find many things difficult to swallow coming from that to this. I find it incredibly difficult to believe how people can lie or complain enough about pvp type encounters to get you in trouble. There is so much power in the players complaints that I find it difficult to swallow.
On the opposite side but still similar I also find it hard to swallow that the players can pretty much tell off and restrict anyone from using white items to you from their faction. If I want to rp a junker that made a devils bargain with a hunted outcast for his battle worn ship in exchange for being hidden and smuggled back to malta I sure dont want to have every other person screaming at me because they feel their rp is "threatened". This goes into the subject of weapons and guard systems to, I feel it unreasonable yet they do as they will.
To do anything it seems, you need to cross hurdles upon hurdles of red tape. Ill use the difficulty I have found in the cap ship (which I have spoken of as my ultimate rp goal). I go into green guard systems, get chased out or simply told "you cant get that, youll have to get permissions from so and so" and I find it ludicris that I would be forced to prostrate myself before other players for something that is green. White cap ships I could kind of understand yet if my rp is good enough why should I have to? Why can I not simply have some of my closest junker friends in salvagers and pilgrims tow the blasted thing out (if i am even allowed to buy it) to puerto rico to finish its repairs and just have a small friends mainly rp event? Yet, I know this would not fly from the attitudes of most players. And even then I could see myself constantly sanctioned due to jealousy or some random pleebian angered that I infringed upon his or her rp by simply being there.
The next topic of contention is player attitudes, this was briefly covered but ill go in on it. Ill use today for example my bomber and the one I named this forum account after is quite simply a junker james bond. He is in a small group of junkers that keep tabs on information flow (mainly to make sure junkers receive the most profit possibly) and rival syndicates (those blasted hogarashu (however its spelled). Driving the super charged bentley (oh yes thats Bond's car of choice in the novels) of bombers in the havoc mk II I went up with a fellow who wanted to go to the corsair base to fill out a few slots with white weapons). We went up met a few zoners and bounty hunters, evading suspicion with my characters clever disguise of a crazy junker trying to make cash by telling random news tidbits to the outer worlds. We eventually got to the corsair base and he picked up a few of pina coladas or whatever the nice shield killers are called. We tried them, he liked them and packed a few more in his hold for a bomber he mentioned he wanted to build, I was like whatever man you do what you will and we continued onward. Then we encountered a bunch of corsairs, our suave dashing junker hero put on his disguise and went to town regailing the corsairs with tidbits of the neural net reputation fluctuation to the results of a battle between rn and ln the other night. The corsairs were fine sports about it and one eventually paid me a few coins in exchange for the colorful reinditions.
Things turned sharply around at this point, the corsairs found he had those guns for him and his bomber chased him around till he fled into their guard system which sent them over the edge. As he and they danced around in there a sat at the main planet relaying messages from a cruiser to him to stand down and that the guard system was for corsairs onry and that it was a vile sin to enter. Fine I found the whole thing deplorable but it wasnt my fight, I said fine im not involved in this and relayed the messages asked to leave and did. Later as he further evaded however many of them I was sent messages informing me that with being in the same group as him that I better make him stop or suffer. I was like lolwut and rp'd onward in the crazy junker guise. As he escaped the cruiser and however many fighters to dock at the planet I now learn that since I was in the same group they were going to put me on kos and I was never to enter there again, possibly even a bounty on me. This point with all the tension of the last few days I exploded in a torrid of /r // and let the poor fellow have it, all the anger and frustration of it all hit him and then I logged.
Im sick of this type of things, im sick of being rule lawyered over EVERYTHING, im sick of not being able to touch the ships that I might possibly have a slightly erotic interest in (my god I love gallic ships), im tired of feeling I will never have that cruiser due to how other players would react, and I hate how I can simply not pirate anymore because the traders hold sanctions over my head like a razor sharp guillotine. I am becoming angry in real life due to the injustice of some of these things or the ,may be law here but seems plain stupid to me,ness of many things. I do not need to be this frustrated, rejected and angry constantly I have enough hell in my own life with debilitating physical conditions that are crushing me. I play this game to escape and I find it better to sometimes be in a real life dealing with real life issues.
Alright, some advice from someone who is a fairly recent addition to the pirate crowd, a long-time trader, and experienced member of the community. If a trader threatens to sanction you, think for a second. Here's what they could possibly get you on:
1) Have you made a demand of money or cargo before attacking and given them a reasonable ammount of time to respond? If so, they can't get you for that.
2) Do you have an ID that allows piracy? Are they actually a trader? (I'm pretty certain you do. That'd be pretty obvious)
Those are really the only things to keep in mind for piracy. Now, they might be able to sanction you for something else, but those are the only ones really related to te deed. Make sure you don't use any ships or equipment that wouldn't work with each other, your tag, or your ID, essentially, and you should be fine. Keep in-character and don't rules lawyer back, as well. If you do all of the above, they can't getcha. Lots of noobish traders will just threaten a sanction, but just ignore them. Empty bravado, for the most part.

Sounds about right.
Things have been heating up for awhile now.
Stay in for longer than a week.
Stay close to some people on the forums.
Actually... I wonder.
Do you want some beautiful RP right now?
Depends on what character you want me on, The bond type character I wouldnt mind. I dont feel like messing with the angry junker in a gunboat and I dont rp much in my trader. And I dont have the much dream of cap ship yet.
If you want to learn the ropes for piracy, why don't you come join the Buccaneers, and ply your trade in good ol' Bretonia? Mood's good here, as is the crowd, and I'm sure we'd be willing to take you under our collective wing. Just PM Capt. G. Thacker on the forums or talk to one of us on Skype. Well, if you don't have Skype, you should get that, too. It's a useful tool for us here at Discovery.
What's your bent? What do you like doing?
pirating, mining, trading, policing, information gathering?
Currently I have a junker, a trader, a corsair pirate, a corsair trader..
and another RP im working on atm (it's a secret. shh can't tell you.)
It's not trouble for me to make another character.
I've been a Liberty Rogue, A reporter, A junker, an [Angel], ummm... lots of traders....a Keeper (nomad), a spy, a miner, a corporate, A mining trainer, a flight instructor, um.... thats about it i think.
By the way, spys don't go down very well on disco, but there are ways to do it.
You just need to find the right people.

I may have to, trouble is most of my pirating woos and anger came from dublin and whatever the mining zone is there.
edit @ hyung soong
Cap ship really, but they made those so far out of the reach of the normal player I have to almost go to power trading lengths to get near one. So I like information gathering the second best with piracy just barely behind it
