It's not that simple, Martin, far from, and I think you did not understand what I meant in my posts here given that oversimplified misinterpretation you've posted. Gotta love those generalizations and putting all eggs into one basket.
What exactly is wrong here is your perceived statement "we don't mind being outnumbered cause we know it's uber". Outnumbering happens regardless of the light fighter ship. It happens because of the core difference between the two factions: one being public and the other being restricted, and that's it. Two factions with two completely different mechanics are pitted one against the other. When light fighter was used widely and when it wasn't used at all - made no difference at all, it is not the cause. From day one on this one outnumbering happens, and I'm simply stating the fact, nothing more. Neither changing the ship will somehow stop "outnumbering" to happen in any way. Just like I said: it'll come to addressing one side of a coin only. Have to see the picture as a whole, not narrowing the view to a piece of it while simplifying it down to restricting palette to eight colors, that's not how it works.
That is why I was talking to Tommy on Skype and were discussing the problems that make up the whole issue, from various perspectives, both ours and theirs. Admittedly the issue is more complex that it seems, drawing from many differences and approaches, but for now at least we're trying to address it properly, hopefully to come up with solutions that would actually resolve it in the end. It ain't going to be easy and certainly not by mere statistical tweaking of ships, because issue's origins often lie outside of unit statistics entirely. Leave the issue of "outnumbering" to those who are close to it and have been for a long time by now to see it more clearly, you ain't going to fix it by tweaking numbers, but consequentially can make it even worse than it is now.
Right Mjolnir, my point was NOT to nerf Keeper Light Fighter. I don't know how this thread turned to nerfing voidrunner. It's definitely not reason why I made this topic.
To be honest, I wouldn't touch voidrunner as it is now. It maybe does annoy me a bit, but that was not the point.
All I asked was something which is harder to hit, and with which we could annoy Keepers, as sometimes they do it to us with LF. :P
But again my point does not implies with changing voidrunner to achieve above sentence.
Nerfing voidrunner would cause some serious consequences, for which to be honest I do not want to be responsible.
All I asked was Order Light Fighter.
You answered we will get one in 4.86. That's it, you answered my question and thank you.
No need to do anything else.
Why not make all Nomad ships ALL have better stats, but not by an insane margin like the Light Fighter?
That would prevent the LF from being used exclusively, and give the Keeper players some realistic selections for ships to use.
Their agility would, of course, be significantly better than human ships - that would be their main advantage over other ship. That's what matters in Freelancer - Agility.
Heh heh, heh, we don't gank Nomad LF anymore Tena. In fact, our last meeting with Keepers ended without any laser fired so... Don't try to start the rant compaign against Order| again.
I am for an Order LF. One of the best -human- light fighter of the game, of course. We need to match the Voidrunner. Like Tommy I don't ask the same uber ship but something close. In term of fairness.
And believe me, the Order need a light fighter, for recon mission, scouting, infiltration... With our big fat ass ships, it's not easy.
Ok ok ok .... did someone just said we are getting AoM LF? Perfect i like ship its LF.
Pretty much what i think..
Order LF without torpedo will be .. well.. i wont use it.
Make it big as Loki i don't care just give it razor..
@Jinx: Really... if you want razor get VHF like Odin.. i think you are blind or something.. Odin .. is well huge.. we have Nephy for that. And when you are talking about Odin .. Hessians have Loki .. thats LF with razor and really.. i hope you thought about that ship and not Odin.
