im new to this server so i dont no if this already happens but.
i think cargo should be dropped. im a trader and find traveling trade routes too easy. this would add reward for pirates and a challenge to traders. weapons attached to the ship should be kept but missiles/nanos should be dropped.
In short just loose anything that is not equipped to your ship. But like NPC ships it doesn't let you loot all the blown-up stuff as some of it would get destroyed by the explosion.

Specially if some missile hits the ship just when it explodes. Its rare with a fighter. But with a missile cruiser, you fire 15-20 missiles to the ship, the 10th missile destroys it, but the ones which didnt exploded hit the wreck and takes out the loot..
it's really annoying at the point you fire just enough so the last missile you fired is the one that blows the ship...
