Miyamoto and Akuji were standing in the main room, waiting to see what happens, discussing different matters at hand.
"Now we must act Akuji-san. The Consortium must be summoned before the Taishogun. As well as the Chrysanthemum Elders. The Taishogun requires their audience."
"The Dragons must...." - Miyamoto paused, and his face grimmed, as in the distance of the Imperial Court's corridors, he saw a glimpse of Order uniforms. Memories overwhelmed him, the betrayal, his brother Ozu, Kenji, and many others. He nodded to Akuji towards the Order officers.
"They are here, long have I feared this day, that the betrayal will be forgotten! But now while I'm around! Too much have my brothers suffered because of these traitors to simply wash away their sins!"
Miyamoto started walking towards the Order officers, putting his hand on his Katana's handle. Anger took him, as much as he tried to restrain himself, the hatred was too great. There is nothing in the universe that Miyamoto hates more then the betrayal.
"You there Gaijin!" - He shouted as the Order officer turned his head and saw him. "Much has happened since you stabbed us in the back! The Dragons need you not anymore! And I will make sure that my brothers understand this! Nothing good can come from you, only will leave us with bitter taste of betrayal!"
"Calm down Dragon, we come in peace, and are working for the same cause. I cannot repay or redo what the Order did in the past. But I can certainly try." - the Order captain responded.
"Peace? Peace!!" - Miyamoto's anger was growing, and he showed the Order captain to the wall, grabbing him by his neck. "Heed my words Gaijin, as long as I'm alive, I will make sure my brothers see you for the traitors you are!!"
Akuji rushed towards them and calmed Miyamoto.
"Calm down Miyamoto-sama, the Gaijin is not worth it." - Akuji said, and looked the Order captain with anger in his eyes.
"We should take what we could use from them, we've already shown them hostility" he smiled, "Infact I remember throwing that particular captain out of Kusari, in that patricular ship, last time we met. And it was on fire"
Akuji observed the agents of the Order as they attempted to ignore some of the hatred thrown their was with dirty looks and curses.
"I guess some people will have to watch their backs, Dragons never forget"
He coughed,
"Still, they aren't much of a concern, they die easily" he turned back "It is the Consortium I don't trust. They have ther backing of the Outcasts, whom we hate, strongly, and they lack honour. We openly attack Outcasts, the allies of the GC, why do we not attack Consortium? They are the same as Outcasts in my eyes"
Miyamoto was calming himself down, hatred for the past could easily be seen on his face. Suddenly his face changed, and a sudden laugh was heard.
"Hahaha! Hai Akuji-san, hai! It was on fire wasn't it? Perhaps my reaction was rash, but understand me, I have no love for the Order. And never will have any." - He then turns to Akuji and whispers, "But.....they could be of some use to us. A powerful puppet perhaps?" - He chuckled.
"Come Akuji-san, let us leave these baka to their fate. As you said, Dragons do not forget nor forgive. I trust they will enjoy their stay here."
Miyamoto again turned to Akuji to speak to him in private.
"The Consortium, hai, they worry me as well. I know nothing of their intentions, and they are harder to understand then the Gaijin! The Taishogun wishes to see if they could be used in our favor. Perhaps they will prove useful to us yet. If not, do not worry, they will feel the blades of the Dragons."
"Well, I've never seen a Consortium pilot, they certainly aren't Outcasts, at least, not directly" He sighed, "I've seen enough Cardamine stacked up for them at Ainu though..."
Akuji paused in thought,
"I don't trust them, at all. They don't want to fix Kusari, their goals aren't to correct us at all, something more sinister, we should keep an eye on them"
"I as well haven't seen them in person, their ships hai, but them iie. I fear that they are more powerful then they seem to be, or reveal themselves to be. And trusting them we cannot afford. Hai, tolerating their presence might be necessary for the time being. But that is not my decision to be made, the Taishogun will speak, but I agree with your words, an eye must be kept on their actions."
Miyamoto looked up to Akuji, placing his hand on his shoulder.
"All I know Akuji-san, is that nothing will stand in our way in restoring Kusari to its glory. Not the Order, not The Consortium with their shady intentions, not even the Chrysanthemums and their Cardamine."
Kell entered the chamber, ignoring the evident hatred of many of the Dragons present, and glanced over to the one standing out in the crowd, apparently with a hand on his blade, out of reflex Rebecca moved her hand to her sidearm, Kell gestured to her to remove it. Kell noted the feeling of betrayal present in the Dragon's eyes "I know why you are so hostile to me, I know the betrayal you feel, but i do not represent the Order as a whole, just a small portion of it" Kell said gesturing to the shield and sword emblem on his shoulder "Peace between our two groups is not my mission, no matter how much i want it, peace and security for humanity is" .
Bowing to the Taishogun he said "Sir, i am Colonel Kell Tainer of the Preservers, this is my former chief of security, Lt. Commander Tatsuo Ishikawa, and my wife, Colonel Rebbecca Tainer" Kell said gesturing towards the woman and man flanking him. "I am aware of the distrust many of the Dragons have of the Order, correct me if i am wrong, I myself have fallen out of favor with High Command because of my methods, which stem from my creed, the ends can never justify the means. This belief has proven to be problematic to the High Command, however that is a discussion for another day." as Kell spoke, Rebecca was unpacking a small holoprojector which she had brought along with her.
"Now to my purpose here, I come to request passage rights through Kusari for my own command vessel, the Neith II and my agents, our business lies beyond Kusari's borders, this is the most direct route, I also personally have business within Kusari, but that is another matter, related to this holo recording, which you requested" Kell gestured to Rebbecca to begin it.
"EDI begin the holo recording" She replied. The holo projector came to life, displaying a recording of a young human female, likely in her twenties beyond infested by a nomad. "I do believe that is what you requested Taishogun, if it would please you, there are further matters i wish to discuss, however, i must consult with my superiors, and see if they will allow it, I pray this will elighten others and help us re-establish the bond our two factions used to share. As to the Hogosha, i speak only for myself and those under my command, when i say we have no love of them or the Corsairs, the Corsairs have my respect, as i have had their assistance when dealing with the Xenomorphs on occasion, however, they are quickly losing that trust"
"Also, i request that the Commander here be allowed to stay with his people, he has been away from Kusari long enough, and it would provide a point of contact" Kell finished, patiently awaiting the Taishogun's response.
Hirosho Horatami saw the crowd of order pilots, crew members, toilet cleaners, and many more. Some dragons were outraged, some kept their cool and decency level at it's best. Hirosho greeted several of the order, nodding and bowing. Hirosho stopped one of the passing order crew members.
"Konnichiwa, what's this all about? A meeting?"
The order member nodded, then continued walking.
Hirosho gathered his group, then followed the crowd to the court.
The shielded end of the Court chambers went down, and the Taishogun could now be seen more clearly on his throne.
"The Taishogun is disturbed, yet intrigued by the footage shown by Colonel Kell. It is hoped that such graphic accounts of alien infestation, shall impress upon us all the need for vigilance when travelling through more exotic space. Shogun Gok-Li shall be called upon to speak more on this matter when this session of Court is over."
The Taishogun, waved His hand, dispersing the holo-projection. Clearly some of the members of the Court were shocked by what they had seen, others had simply been clamouring for a better view.
"As to your petition, you and your men may pass through our space, except for this system. Since you are merely passing through, then you have no need to come to Kyoto - except as invited from time to time to visit the Royal Court.
There were quite a number of drawn breaths, and angry murmurs. None dared protest - they would wait until Shogun Gok-Li spoke before doing that.
"As it has been stated there is no desire to entreat with the Hogosha, therefore Colonel Kell and his men shall not be seen associating with them in Kusari - or his words shall be known as lies among us."
Many Dragons murmured at this point, there were nods of agreement in the crowd.
"As for your other Kusari business, and business of yours here is also the concern of the Taishogun. Colonel Kell shall confer with Shogun Gok-Li on such matters when we are concluded here today."
With that the Taishogun, put down one view-pad, and picked up another for His next item of business. There was more to come this day.
The Taishogun gestured for one to approach.
"Daimyo, Akuji-san, step forth!"
Akuji immediately came forward, and kneeled before the Taishogun. Some in the crowd muttered words of support for the Daimyo, others delivered murderous stares.
"By your loyalty and steadfast manner, you have pleased the Taishogun. It is His will that you are to be called Shogun from this moment on."
"HAIL THE SHOGUN! HAIL THE TAISHOGUN!!" Came the roar of the crowd, at least those who were not leaving - with the shortest of bows and barely concealed disgust behind their compliments.
Akuji bowed deeply and rose.
"I am honoured beyond words, the Taishogun is truly gracious."
The Taishogun smiled, and picked up the next holo-card. The matter was thus concluded.
