Wildfire turrets are class three. Level Eight turrets are all gunboat weaponry; big nono. The things are by themselves half as big as the freighter.

It can mount class 5. I had one on one of my old characters and it can mount up to class 5 turrets which are the fighter turrets.

Pretty sure they can also mount Class 7 (transport) shields. Very nice for exploring through hostile systems.

Don't mind me, I'm just passing along useless opinions, seeing as I've flown all but one of the suckers you've talked about. [The Dominion fighter, to be precise. AKA: Kusari Lux Liner to you dipsticks.;)]

Camara- No, don't. Waste once you can actually afford a larger one.

Behemoth- Actually not a bad ship, though I'll take the 'dale over it.

Armored Trans- Okay, again, until you get a better one.

C-Trans - Got sucked into one of these lately (*Glares at certain unnamed parties*) and hate them. Sure, three of them can blow up a gunboat, but, eh, when will you get that as an independent trader? Not worth the 6 extra guns, really. I mean, what are you doing fighting in a transport anyway?

L-Train - My favorite, personally. You can, quite literally, swing it around the outsides of things to sort of, eh, what's the best way to put it, power-slide, around things, I suppose. This one depends on the kind of runs you do though, for the most part. If you go through JH a lot, then you want this, because you're probably going through some kind of rock field.

Whale- Actually, scratch the above, this is my favorite. I don't know why the hell you're whining about it being clumsy and having poor thrust. And again, the issue of no weapons. . .WHY DO YOU WANT THEM?! (And a CM won't really help you either. >_> As for it being slimmed down, it can, like the L-Train, swing wide enough and is short enough that it can go between asteroids. The hold is good enough, I suppose, though that is the main lack for me.

Turanic Raider/Kushan- Amazing buggers both, and hell o' fun to fly. Personal preference really.

If I missed one. . .fah well.

' Wrote:I second Thomas Hill's vote on the Kushan Freighter. It has a decent cargo hold and can actually mount 3 of those codenames for a bit of a punch. Handling isn't the best in the world, but it's no slouch either.
Not only can you equip them for power, but you can also equip them so you don't lose them if you blow up.

no weapons for ftw tbh. got a large train and you would be better off using harsh language rather than the waste of time weapons you can mount on it.

if you are going somewhere that dodgy then hire a merc or pay the tax.

This is a little off topic, but...who are the Turanic Raiders and Kushans? I don't remember those names from vanilla FL, but they sound veguely familiar...

btw, I think I've posted about this before, but, despite its sluggish handling, I think the Cargo Transport is one of the best modded shipe on any FL server. Its so thoroughly modeled, it looks like it belongs in the original Microsoft game. I love watching ti take off. And with a 4400 cargo hold and level 4 transport turrets, it goes just about anywhere safely and makes lots of money.

I like exploring too, but my trader character is for making money. My Ravenclaw is for exploring. :-)
