It's full of stupid. Way more stupid than any6where else in sirius. So just forget it exists and go somewhere else. The first step to sorting it out there, is simply having less people in the system. Perhaps tell a load of the miners how to mine in the omegas.
Attempting to base any diplomatic relations on events which happen in an environment where every other word in system chat is a miner going "FU ****! Y U SHOOT ME ?" and the pirates replying in <no speak english, 2milordaiplz>, hardly seems like a wise idea.
I can only speak for IMG. We tried the Taus. Outcasts keep swarming us, with fighter swarms and capital fleets (not usually together though), it wasn't fun to mine there anymore. We migrate to Dublin, and... presto, now all of a sudden the hustle and bustle is there. For IMG, the Omegas are the least attractive option. IMG has relatively poor mining bonuses on the commodities you can mine there: Silver x2, Cobalt x2 and Copper x2 (versus Silver x4, Cobalt x3 and Copper x3 for Kruger). If IMG could get on-par with at least one of those commodities it'd make going to the Omega's more attractive. Personally I'd like Silver set to x3 (still below Kruger, but enough to compete). I'd also move to set the Beryllium bonus to x2.5. It doesn't make sense to me that the CR, BMM, GMS all receive x3 when IMG, who owns a large Beryllium mining operation in Cambridge, gets a much weaker bonus.
Basically: Give us viable options to choose from, and we'll be flexible. Right now, Dublin and Tauside are the most effective mining areas.
' Wrote:Shame there are so few BMM-IMG conflicts. It'd be fun to have more. Without the direct hostilities, of course, as it's against the ID. Destroying the ore, inviting pirates and pointing them at BMM - that sounds nice.
You caused IMG enough headaches by openly pirating in the Omegas - please, no repeats of that in Dublin, mkay?;).

I can see why people are believing you're talking about the lolwut miners. That's a stereotypical problem of Dublin these days, and not everybody pays attention to the Comm Channel or what's happening in Dublin's politics right now.
Guys, this discussion isn't about locking Dublin or lowering ore prices or the lolwut miners. It's about people (like my character) attempting to sabotage IMG - Bretonian relations to provoke a confrontation. Which is perfectly acceptable. If you're innocent you have nothing to fear, so there's no problem. That's the recurring point here.

Amen to that. See how they handle when they can't run back to the Essex with its chain-firing Pulses. The Essex is close in strength to the Isis and there's no need for it.

Cunning saboteurs would find it a lot harder to operate in a less chaotic environment, in which people would be able to keep a closer eye on what is happening around them.
Make Dublin's mining average/low. Make a Gallia fields great in replacement and a sale point in Gallia. The lolminers go to Gallia, see what the Discovery mod has to offer besides a Battleship, they will have a hard time with NPCs and will increase Gallia activity. Dublin gets cleared and back to a nice vanilla system again. IMG and BAF would be able to quarrel without idiots in the way.
' Wrote:Meh. You got the IAB and Patterson stirring on one end, and a frustrated Henderson on the other. Add to the mix several randomized indies on both ends, and mix in a few quasilawfuls/unlawfuls docking on Hood (which, as stated in it's description, was declared a Freeport by the IMG members bringing it back into service) and you have a trainwreck waiting to happen.
The only solution I can see is for both IMG| and the Bret lawfuls to dismiss the incidents as incidents, and deal with people who want things to escalate into a fullblown conflict between IMG and the BAF, -harshly-. As in, launch a bloody carrier and dual razor the nutball into oblivion. The first part of this solution has been pretty much implemented. Part two... pending.
I don't think Henderson is doing it on purpose. He's just caught up those situations all the time, because he's so active.
Tomtom, you seem rather bored in my opinion. But well, I'll not rant about that point now... Why does, what your char does, work?
Because the BAF jumps(/ed) in too quickly, raging war instead of making some diplomacy with a big mining guild. That mining guild sits in their house and could even help them. Yes, there was the incident with the ore...
But that's no reason for an all out war with IMG. Then there were those Order pilots, well, they were there. Great. Did we invite them there? I guess not. Our pilots met them in Dublin and since they aren't hostile to us and aren't of the kind that shoots us - why shouldn't we have a talk to them? Should we inform Bretonia about it? Maybe. But after what happened, how can we trust Bretonia to do the right thing? They came more than once to the Hood and declared us HOSTILE. And don't underestimate the IMG, think of the GMG...get what I'm saying? We might lose some ground, but overall it's going to be a bad move for BAF if they attacked us.
And no, this is not about the miners and not about the battleships.
This is about RP problems.
And "Cmdr. Yamakazi" ... please get out of here. Stop trolling. Thank you.

They'd find it a lot harder if there were no unlawful actions to exploit. But the IMG are taking actions that could be considered illegal by Bretonia, so they're creating a problem for themselves.

I'm not bored. I've created a new character and am using it to its full potential, and am now discussing why my character does what he does and gets away with it. If the IMG hadn't blown up the ore of those BMM Basalts or met with those Order pilots in Bretonia, hardly anybody would have even heard of Adam Patterson. The IMG are giving my character exactly what he wants, which is evidence that they're backstabbing Bretonia.
They jumped quickly at the ore situation because it was evident that the IMG were sabotaging BMM operations, which were crucial for the war effort. So IMG were sabotaging the war effort and the Bretonians wanted to act very swiftly against this.

It's perfectly fair for the Kempeitai to try exploit the situation when IMG and BAF are in a tense conflict. That does not necessarily need to include IMG's direct assistance in any way. However, the offer is there, haha.
As for the Stationary Battleship comment, seriously, I simply can't imagine the level of panic some of you would have if those were gone. It would be hilarious!

Essex is no different from any other house battleship. Their firepower increases when there are more player around. It is nothing like Isis.
