KNF really sounds good but we have quite some problem with the official KNF faction..so that would right start where the ORI ends.
BHG has nice ZoI but the ships are not the things we are looking for.
Terrorist IDs..ya that d be cool :D

Obviously we are very interested in the ships of the faction we choose, yes. I cannot see what is wrong with that, as it is an essential part of the RP you have to do later on and therefore might decide if you have fun or not.
We tried the thing with joining a faction and i understand on the one hand why people like being in an official one but on the other hand it is exactly what i do not want. So we will have our own faction again and it hopefully will be as much fun as the others were.
Well, I'd pick up mercenary IDs and RP whatever I wish, starting with private mercenary company and ending with Sirius-wide mafia-like smugglers organisation
Well, alright but I still think that you should develop the story first and then the other aspects like ships that you use. If you will really, really, really need a cap ship or 2 for the story, it's always possible to SRP one (well, not "always" because now the SRPs are closed but maybe you'll do this in 4.86) of a faction that has (even a tiny) connection with your faction. See what the Consortium did a while back (they had OC iff and even OC ships but they weren't OCs) or NTF...

We did not found an existing faction, which would be close enough to our conception so that we could simply adopt their RP.
Also i think the interesting part of starting and playing in a faction is to be not just like all the other factions of your kind.

well you know... START means you have to build the stuff around ya RP
its not like a new group can appear (in case of good RP) and have a powerfull fleet full of warships and stuff.
Dakun, at this point I'd suggest simply going ahead with your plans and seeing where it goes. This thread is going to go in a nasty direction sometime soon.
If you will be using only capital ship... And have freedom in RP...
You will disregard the responsibilities you must uphold while flying one.
Unless your caps will be without weapons.
Since you want to RP and be different it shouldn't be big problem. Right?
