Excellent job. The resource acquisition is complete, and they will now be steadily transferred to Wolfsburg for use in the construction project. All that remains is the second objective, which is currently in planning stage. Expect an update soon.

Kameraden.
Our intelligence in Liberty has finally come up with something that we can use for the second part of the operation. It appears that the Liberty Navy is going to attempt to make a breakthrough in Hudson, and they will be sending a few small battlegroups into the system to poke the Military's defences and figure out their weak points. These groups will be small so that they can make a run for it when faced with superior firepower. This works to our advantage: we will ambush one of those scouting groups and blast the engines on their siege cruiser. Then our engineers will detach the forward gun and make a run for it towards Dawson where we can ship it in parts back to Wolfsburg for reassembly.
Our fighters will tie up their escort. Given the small size of our force, it will be easy to strike fast and undetected and accomplish the objective before Liberty reinforcements arrive.
I have already contacted Rogues about the use of their base and their discretion. We have leverage, so there shouldn't be any problems. The objective is as follows:
Deliver exhaustive scans of the Liberty Siege Cruiser
Destroy the cruiser's engines
Scan the forward gun, detach it from the cruiser and bring it to Dawson for deconstruction
We will need at least 6 pilots for this. I will be there to supervise the operation myself. The operation will require 2 bombers and 5 fighters in total, as well as a repair ship for additional technical support in detaching the forward gun. Once this is completed and the objective is delivered to Wolfsburg, we will be able to finally begin the last stage of Projekt 09 construction.

Below is my report from the mission to recover the LSC forward gun from a LN patrol in Hudson:
We've disembarked Freital base today at approximately 18:45PM in a force of 5 fighters (Walter Steiner, Peter Schubert, Hans Gukel, Friedrich Dresner and Sascha Falk) and 2 bombers (myself and the bomber Feuerteufel). We've manage to reach Hudson unhindered and unseen in just under 15 minutes, and rendezvoused at Dawson base with our contact from the Liberty Rogues.
[color=#33CCFF][02.07.2011 18:59:17] LR-Smart.Blonde: Guess you two are here about that deal?
[02.07.2011 18:59:34] [RHA]-Gunther.Hoerst: There are more than just two of us.
[02.07.2011 18:59:43] LR-Smart.Blonde: Good.
[02.07.2011 18:59:53] LR-Smart.Blonde: I'm sure they're all briefed that this place doesn't exist?
[02.07.2011 19:00:00] [RHA]-Gunther.Hoerst: So they are.
[02.07.2011 19:00:13] [RHA]Schwarzengel: Our piloten are already fully avare ov all aspekts ov zis operation.
[02.07.2011 19:00:13] LR-Smart.Blonde: Good, then everything's in order.
[02.07.2011 19:00:32] LR-Smart.Blonde: You are free to refuel and reload.
[02.07.2011 19:00:41] [RHA]-Gunther.Hoerst: Verstanden.
The contact relayed to us the information on the movement of the Liberty Navy patrol, and I have ordered the squadron to occupy a trade lane between the Hamburg gate and Atka so as to catch them unprepared. The patrol passed the lane as expected, and as reported by our contacts consisted of five fighters and one siege cruiser. Myself and Feuerteufel were supposed to disable the cruiser while the rest of the team fought off the fighter escort.
All did not go exactly as planned however. Feuerteufel seemed to have suffered some kind of malfunction as he was shot down at the very start. Surely this could not be the fault of the pilot, as he was hand picked by myself for this mission. The faulty equipment issue left us with a force incapable of damaging the cruiser's shields, and I was forced to order the rest of the team to abandon covering the enemy fighters and engaging the cruiser so that I may attack its engine.
This patrol was well prepared however. Almost too well. The enemy fighters immediately jumped on my bomber, and I was forced to eject myself soon after completing the scans of the cruiser. My fighter escort began falling to the guns of the cruiser, being more unprepared than I anticipated for this course of action. After my pod was picked up by Major Friedrich Dresner, I ordered a general retreat knowing that there was no chance we could secure the forward gun itself now. Out of our starting force only Friedrich Dresner and Peter Schubert were able to retreat to base. None of our pilots died or were injured, but most will need replacement ships for further operations.
Conclusion:
Scans of the cruiser have been obtained. Preliminary crunch by engineers on Vogtland assumes we will be able to reconstruct approximately 20-30% of the overall method of functioning of the forward gun from the scans alone. Failure to obtain working forward gun impedes progress heavily however. Suggest new attempt and plan at obtaining parts and/or schematics of the forward gun.
Liberty Navy patrols in Hudson are well prepared for our tactics, likely learning to counter them from the Unioners, who mimic our modus operandi against Naval forces. Surprise attacks by taking out a lane are now considered no longer effective. Suggestion to field commanders: change tactics to encirclement and/or baiting when dealing with Liberty Navy forces and test effectiveness. Conduct further research into Liberty Navy operations in independent worlds and core world defence.
Further planning to obtain detailed schematics and/or parts of the forward gun will be necessary. Our engineers will study the scans brought back from Hudson and define our new mission objective.

Our R&D department has spent the past weeks crunching the data and they have all but pinned down the exact method using which the projectiles are propelled by the Liberty Siege Cruiser forward gun. Unfortunately, they still need additional data so that the effort can be sped up. Considering the timeline we are facing, it would be prudent that we still get this data.
In the mean time I've spent countless weeks sending my agents to get any and all information on how we can obtain that blueprint - or functioning prototypes. While the Junkers ended up being largely useless, we did get one piece of information out of them: a Liberty organisation known as the Hellfire Legion possesses an unknown number of stolen Liberty Siege Cruisers which they use to attack vulnerable Liberty Navy forces in California.
Considering the reassignment of the Hessian Tears squadron to undercover duty, the Oberkommando agreed that this is the perfect task for them. They are to help us establish an understanding with the Hellfire Legion so that we may gain access to the schematics.
The contingency plan in case this is unworkable is as usual: assemble a team in Liberty and lead an assault on a vulnerable siege cruiser, then use hired Junker help to recover the wreckage.
Our scientists inform me that this has helped them understand the launch mechanism and has brought them far closer to a functional prototype. This is of course good news, but we're not quite done yet. We will need the parts from the forward gun delivered to us, parts that are currently in Hacker possession. While the hard part is out of way, it is likely the Liberty Navy will be searching for the group that crippled one of their precious cruisers.
This operation is far too important to simply let it sit, so I will be ordering Hauptmann Karl Leitner to lead the Hessian Tears to protect the transport during its trip from Mactan to Hudson. Once they get to Dawson Base, we will be home free to parade it to Wolfsburg through Duesseldorf, Saar and Dresden without having to worry about any enemies.

This is the final report for Operation: Aasfresser. While the operation to obtain the forward gun parts in Liberty was successful, the transport home was not. At that point our scientists have all but fully cracked the secret to the plasma containment problem. Certain events have led to our contact with the rogue Liberty Navy fleet known as the Hellfire Legion which has offered to give us the technology we require to complete the project once and for all.
Today their emissary arrived in Omega-5 to personally deliver us the blueprints. The mutual cooperation that we agreed to involved us lending the Legion the services of one of our logistics experts. I have personally briefed him on his task, and he will provide us with extensive reports regarding the Legion's operations. Of course, he will also help them to the height of his abilities. A partnership with the Legion may very well bring more boons in the future. Oberleutnant Karl van der Riess will be the logistics expert to be transferred to the Legion. Of course, the transfer will be temporary.
Quote:[RHA]RHC-Von.Rohe: Guten tag, Herr Steele.
[HF]-Chiwetel.Steele: Noon.
[RHA]RHC-Von.Rohe: I assume you're here to complete the deal
[RF]Stakhanov: Alexey: Ja, nice to finally meet you. While i can't exactly call it noon, but we're in space anyway.
[HF]-Chiwetel.Steele: I'll say that I am here to deliver what has been requested and serve in the position of an emissary, yes. But I'm not much for talking. And the presence of someone who potentially might listen in in Omega-11 isn't to my liking.
[RHA]RHC-Von.Rohe: On behalf of the Red Hessian movement, I'd like to extend my thanks to the Legion for the generous gift that you brought us. Don't worry, this place is clean of prying eyes.
[[HF]-Chiwetel.Steele: For now at least, if you don't mind me saying. Still. As far as the Legion is concerned, despite whatever differences in nation or culture may be present, we are, effectively... on the same side. So don't mention.
[RHA]RHC-Von.Rohe: Ja, we totally agree. Following the deal that we agreed to, Herr Van der Riess is on board the Von Rohe ready for transfer. We will entrust him to you to carry him to Liberty with you.
[HF]-Chiwetel.Steele: I suppose that will save me playing mechanic. Very well, if you wish matters to be concluded in this fashion, we can simply do and carry on our merry ways.
[RF]Stakhanov: Alexey: Right. We have to return to Omega-11 anyway, to take care of any kind of people who, say, might be spying, or doing any other kind of bad things we wouldn't like.
[RHA]RHC-Von.Rohe: Should his job require it, we may deliver additional craft to Magellan at our discretion. But yes, lets conclude the deal. There are matters to attend in Omega-11.
[HF]-Chiwetel.Steele: If that becomes necessary and command permits it it may be done. -clears throat-
[RHA]RHC-Von.Rohe: Sehr gut.
[HF]-Chiwetel.Steele: I hereby entrust the schematics of the Liberty Navy's Diamond Flail Particle Accelerator Device to the Red Hessian Army. And so on, and so forth.
(The exchange takes place)
[RHA]RHC-Von.Rohe: The Red Hessian movement will use these plans to further both our interests. Once again, on behalf of the movement we thank you.
[RF]Stakhanov: Alexey: We will make good use of it. Looking forward for future cooperation.
[HF]-Chiwetel.Steele: Don't mention. Contrary to our reputation, we don't mind sharing. With the right people.
[RHA]RHC-Von.Rohe: Oh and... Major Hoerst told me to give... Frau Callahan? Ja, Frau Callahan - his regards.
[HF]-Chiwetel.Steele: I'm certain Miss Callahan will... appreciate that once our artificial highness forwards it. There's one thing however which... that particular woman asked me to ask. Given that Major Hoerst is not present I suppose I've to ask if you may not forward the following: And I quote her here - "Where's my damn hat?"
[RHA]RHC-Von.Rohe: *cough* Hmm... I will forward that message.
[RHA]RHC-Von.Rohe: Danke. Be sure to monitor our progress. The results of this cooperation will be visible very soon, we assure you.
[RF]Stakhanov: Alexey: If you have any trouble with generic consumer goods, clothes or hats, we could send you a few transports.
[HF]-Chiwetel.Steele: I assume so. And I'm afraid Miss Callahan meant a particular hat but I myself do not know which. So I don't think I can speak for her further in this matter. That being said, the Legion too extends its thanks for this agreement. As I trust my Command has informed yours, it doesn't need mentioning that the Oberleutnant will be taken care of more than well.
[RF]Stakhanov: Alexey: Let it be just the first step on the long road to better future.
[RHA]RHC-Von.Rohe: Ja. The Revolutionary Council expects for his security to be provided for. We hope he will compliment the Legion's skills well
[HF]-Chiwetel.Steele: Not the words I'd use, but I agree.
[RHA]RHC-Von.Rohe: for as long as he's necessary.
[HF]-Chiwetel.Steele: I'm certain he will. He wouldn't have been chosen if he could not.
[RHA]RHC-Von.Rohe: The Red Hessian movement extends further invitations to Legion personnel in the future, so that we may cooperate further.
[HF]-Chiwetel.Steele: Still, I'm glad we came to an agreement in the first place and time will tell how this will develop.
[RHA]RHC-Von.Rohe: Ja, indeed. Let this be the beginning of a great cooperation.
[HF]-Chiwetel.Steele: We'll see.
[RF]Stakhanov: Alexey: Right. Now, if you would excuse us, we've got another system to patrol.
[HF]-Chiwetel.Steele: That said I'll be taking my leave with the Oberleutnant. Do so.
[RF]Stakhanov: Alexey: See you around.
[HF]-Chiwetel.Steele: Firing up cruise engines and proceeding. Good hunting.
[RHA]RHC-Von.Rohe: You can expect our leaders to be in contact with you regarding Herr Van der Riess's performance in short order. Danke schon and good luck.
[HF]-Chiwetel.Steele: Good luck to you too. Steele out.
This technology transfer allows us to complete the final necessary adjustments to the Ragnarok energy cannon. The first test flight of Projekt 09 prototype will take place within the next 72 hours, afterwards full scale production is expected to be undertaken.
