Using a middleman isn't a decision. It's just a rounding exact ID restriction.
That restriction was made to reflect that Zoner Guard ships must serve Freeports and remote worlds, not to ship goods between house core systems.
Majority of players who use Zoner guard ships that way know about this restriction, and i doubt if it's so easy to catch them by docking.
Last time the Zoner Guard ID was brought up as a trader ID, I can remember people saying that getting a friend (for example) to log a trade ship he stationed at the base where you sell the freight is perfectly good in rules and RP.
Weird how people's opinions about this change as they see it fitting. If he doesn't dock the base and doesn't F1 he is not breaking any rules. Having someone unload your vessel in space at least promotes cooperation and I can't see that being done by any "powertraders and lulwuts".
Also it's very nice to see that you are always in the right, because "traders are always wrong. They are powertraders, lulwuts, idiots you can just shoot! They can't defend themselves anyway! And it's makes the way too easy trading much harder! Like a challenge!"
Your attitude sucks. Trading is too easy? When a pirates catches you there's nothing you can. You say "go around the pirate"? Yeah, nice. You'll run in a different one a system later.
And blowing up their ore in space? That's low. Very low. Why am I even still talking to you? Get your post out of my face! Seems like all you care for is harming other players fun in any way possible - that's not about RP or anything else anymore!
Yes, they shouldn't drop their ore in space, but blowing it up just for that reason...?

Is it against the rule? Report it then...
Is it ooRP behavior? Here the question is "Is your RP better than his?" i find following random transports in order to shoot his ore/lanes/LAZOR rather OORP-ish unless my character is getting payed to do that...
Edit: Yeah, good luck finding someone who will pay you to shot ore of other traders...
You guys have made it pretty clear and I like, totally agree.
EDIT:

Trade ore with IMG/BMM/Kruger/Bowex/Samu... you got it.
No need to use Whale in unproper way or even RP like "shoot my whale full of Kruger ore and get banned from all Freeports"
This whole zonerzoner issue tends to get old after a while.
In reply the topic starter, if you feel rules are violated post a 6.10 violation for the admins to decide on. This thread borderlines on trial by forum (of the group of players who choose to trade as zoners, not an individual).
Personally, I see nothing wrong with a Zoner bringing in a load of Borderworld ore to one of the houses and trading it for whichever commodities one of the Freeports outside of house space needs. It is very fitting for them to do so - the border worlds produce mainly raw materials which the houses need. The houses produce various commodities the Borderworlds have little to no access to by themselves. I would however recommend using BWTs for that purpose, not Storks or ZonWhales.

I don't do it often but I do on occasion ship ore. When I do, it's either a case of a player asking me to do so or I may have a big project I'm working on that I need a nice pay out on. Generally though, my cargoes are RP type cargos. For example, Zoners don't produce engine components so I buy them in house space.
And as someone said, a good pirate knows who the traders are flying a Zoner ID THINKING it gets them out of piracy. For those who think that, it doesn't!
FYI...I fly a Borderworlds Trader. It was the first ship I built and I still fly it some years later.

Oh, that's a big claim, Boby.
Ore or no ore I judge according to players behaviuor. He/she can be shipping handicapped unicorns I won't care much if player shows some kind of dedication and understanding of what he is doing, where he is and why.
Dropping anything in space seems pretty risky. I mean, anyone could come around and tractor it up. Especially if you're telling people your plans.
I'm not going to even try and figure out the whole people leaving the Houses and then coming back and working for them thing. I'm sure there are some kind of reasons, but are there lots of times it's just dumb people.
In conclusion, if you don't like 'em, just steal their hats (or, I guess, ore, but you can't wear that on your head).
