in very very extreme cases - where their "fun" is clearly focussed on making your gameplay bad ( meaning, not quite inRP anymore ) - you could file a report for a non-sporting gameplay ... but the decision of that would be a very subjective one.
its also required to really - and in utmost detail - know about the circumstances of the encounter.
ways to solve the problem:
- PM the leader of them //ooc .... and initiate a player to player conversation about how it starts to annoy you. - some players will stop when they see that they are actually harming the player rather than the character. - however - other players will gleefully continue with renewed vigor.
- focus on getting away. - even a distance of 100k can be managed on thrusters. - or spam the cruise all the time.... they WILL run out of CDs before you run out of cruise attempts
- shoot them - if they do not kill you - but take hits, its their loss - regard it as a "free target practice + a free return to your spawn point"
- commit suicide by turning off your shield and ramming into stuff ( but thats rather bad )
- go afk, ignore them - and get a coffee ( also not the best way ) - but they WILL blow you up - eventually ... or leave you alone
behaviour to obstruct you is inRP for certain factions:
- like gaians - they are terrorists ... but that doesn t mean they kill ppl randomly. they are "terrorizing" orbital spa and cruise....
.... it would be REALLY bad publicity if they actually blew a liner up. - but....... they will stall the liner with non leathel forces - so that it ll take ages to reach its destination. - for gaians... that is 100% in RP. ( but you weren t facing gaians obviously in rheinland )

If you get to 1 bottle of beer I'm sure they will either be asleep, laughing their heads off or have blue messaged you. Therefore, good fun all around.

I see, so you missed the part that I was just about to let you go before fluffy showed up? Well then, now we're sorta even on missing things up?
20 minutes can get you more than 150k on thruster alone even accounting for needing to recharge it. Somehow I doubt that you were more than 150k from the nearest base.

Let us pretend for a moment that we all are individuals with different personalities and not clones who react to anything the same way. Starting from this assumption you may accept that different ppl react differently to a situation - you dont know me or anyhting about me, yet you judge me for not acting like you would have done (which, i am 100% sure, would differ depending on the situation ). I did not act as stoic as I could have, on some days I would, on others I would even less. The point however still is that I was forced by them to do nothing for 20 minutes. Did I do everything the best way possible? Surely not. But I also think that this does not make wasting the time of a fellow player ok.

I destroyed the load in RP. Whatever reaction should be in RP, not something oorp justified by "I am an evil and imaginative character"
Think of it this way. Say a pirate wanted your ring on your finger. You take it off and throw it off a cliff. Instead of just killing you on the spot, they decide to take you back to their cave. Cut your toes and fingers off, one by one, taking their time torturing you. Since they couldn't be near you to do that personally, they did the next best thing. They tortured you by wasting your time and then getting another trader to shoot you.
This is a game...unfortunately there are people who dont know it... I dont really have an opinion in this situation because I wasnt there, but from my side I dont like to harm other persons as a pirate. Its about characters, not about people front of pc-s. If you feel they harm your feelings, you can report them (0.0) or just leave them there and do something else. Kiss your girlfriend or read a book, get a beer etc. Trust me, they will waste their time than, not yours. Just keep an eye on the main important part ot his GAME. Enjoy it or leave it. If you feel yourself angry or something like that, just do something else. Dont play if you cant enjoy it.
Let's say I understand your pain. If all of what they did was inRP - it wasn't good RP enough.
I believe when your enemy / opponent have good RP it makes YOUR CHARACTER hate them very badly but at the same time it makes YOU admire those players for how funny, creative and effective they are.
My advice for your inRP answer to this situation: since you have Firefly and got some cash - make bounty on their stupid heads. You'll see how funny will be earning cash for this bounty and how good your character (and You of course) will feel when see the proofs of their execution.
I did that once - worked perfectly for me. Besides you'll make some connections on merc's market, which is very good for every trader. Good luck.
