Did you not watch the video? Sure, they can, but they have a devil of a time docking and they need a battleship to run the drive. It's a massive hassle for casual trading, and the ships in question are sitting ducks until the charge timer is up.

Edited the OP using my limited math skills to come up with rough calculations for what I think the odds of jumping into a star are. Feel free to point out I fail at math.
Ku bs have 1700cargo => if have Jump drive.. no cau... and only 200space for fuel. Wanna charge => BS+ take 5k trans full of mox, and don't forget that first you need to setup that damn surveyer for jump.... which takes also cargo space(also how much?)
Can't tell now more.. we will see with time is it good as it's now, but only bs is not cool, cruisers or atleast BC should be able to power up them too.
