We used to patrol Tau areas prior in .85 with our CR. Most of the time, empty. No worth trade routes in the area. Outgoing ore via Kyushu and forth. But from this ENTIRE area, including first Gallic worlds, Omicrons and Taus, nothing reasonable into Bretonia. And yet, we keep spawn point in Liberty.
mining is quite booooooring so i don't like it
instead i trade and never in same circle or route
it is more interesting to go to "new" places
money is reason to do so, but i allso hope to find some pirate/other
who actualy does RP
With regards to system chat. Shouldn't a real life transmission, depending on intensity and lack of encryption, be picked up by whatever is reading EM waves thoughout a system and beyond (with some delay as it travels at the speed of light).
When i consider this I don't mind system chat. I do think it would be interesting to add delay just for lols.
PS: Please forgive me if I didn't state the physics correctly.

While waiting for my main ships to be restored by the admins I took the liberty of starting a trader from nothing.
Now I'm flying around in a little freighter, (think Rhino), I have no money, my entire small fortune sunk into the ship and cargo and I meet a pirate... guess what he demands? 1million credits.
Seriously pirates you need to smarten up. Doing this to new players is obviously just you wanting your lil blue message and the ego boost you so desperately need, cause YOU outsmarted and out gunned him. (lets not even mention that most pirates these days are in GBs)
If you want new players to stay and trade more, wait UNTIL they have a ship that can carry lots of cargo. Asking more then 1kk from a ship that makes maybe 100k at best is just ridiculous.
*end rant*

Yes it encourages people to play their factions routes, but it spreads players so very thin. In my opinion, to make things interesting, why not one or two large, long routes, that can branch out for different areas with the same profit? It encourages player interaction and piracy, making things more fun, instead of the 20 somewhat profitable but dead runs.
Also, please, get rid of local chat being the default. RP aside, it's annoying as heck and hardly serves a purpose. Am I the only one who thinks this?

About local chat...I dislike it as the default. It makes the game, which allows to few people on at a time, seem even more desolate. I'd say get rid of local all together. Yeah, pirates are going to be heard making demands, then, but who cares? That'll just add an element of danger to the business and the more people interacting the better. Group chat will suffice for any private role play.

I would really like to post something reasonable, but noticing that the threat has developed to "post your opinion to as many different topics as possible" I feel a little bit confused what to post about.
We had default system chat already. It wall all about people going "how much $$ u paid for ship?" "where u baught?" and such on system.
It's better as it is now. If you want to post all over the system you can still use the /s command. Today I passed an OSI ship which was /s -ing to the passengers aboard. It was just great.
And yes, I passed it while I was TRADING from Liberty to Bretonia. And I met a whole lot of other traders. Gladly there were some people mining in Dublin today, as my traderun is dependent on gold ore on a part of one leg.
If you think trading is boring, has no outcome and system chat lacks in general - then try to do it differently from how you do it now.
