Don't feel bad, I'm awful at pvp now....before I left, I used to think I was fairly decent, especially in a bomber vs. fighter match-up.
Ever since I came back to the game though, I just suck. Bad.
Although, once you learn most of the tricks (box strafing, ek, jousting in angled lines, cding mines, etc.), I think a lot of it comes down to who has the better ship/equipment.
There is always room for improvement though. Just keep dieing like I do.:P
When I first joined, I utterly failed, had never played Freelancer online and didn't even know the basics. But found good teacher (joined official factions, they had trainers) and I started learning. Funny fact, I used to have very, very good aim, I used to kick my teacher's ass, and I used to tank even some pros. In time, all of that got lost, now my aim is very, very poor and I get my ass kicked a lot. But oh well..
' Wrote:It's not just fly and shoot, there are techniques and tactics that must be learned through training. You can ask someone to teach you, or just watch in Connecticut, or join a faction and get training from them. Flying and dying is the worst way of learning.
Dying is not the worst way to learn. It just takes a long time. I have never been taught. I learned over many years, and can hold my own in a one on one.
Also learn your ship. Not all fighters do well with same tactics. I almost never joust, as i find that is best way to die to SNACs and nuke mines. Plus i prefer Lighter fighters over the big tank fighters.
Well, no, because when I started I knew I wouldnt be very good, so I didnt decide to attack people immediately, and learned how to fly first. Id advise you to do the same.

I have been playing in this server for 1 year and i still suck at PVP i dont give up like that, I ask they guy why i failed at beating him and they used to tell me why . I try to learn from my mistake
Follow the same as i do you will be an ace pilot:)
Ok, here is the fact, I know all basic technique of pvp, I even read Blodo's RHA combat manual, but still I get killed in every pvp, the only ship I ever killed is Spatial when I'm in Rag'ed Virage Q_Q.
So, there are some people born with pvp skill and some are not, I'm not the lucky one, so now I mount CAP VIII on my GB and start pirating/escorting/pvp with it, and thats how I enjoy playing disco

Ok....noted.
I do agree that some people are probably "naturally" better than others at pvp. I often find that I get excited in the heat of battle and start pressing the wrong buttons. It's been hard getting used to box strafing constantly when in combat.
Although....I'm sure with practice i.e. actually training in space as opposed to reading the various manuals/tutorials floating around, one would certainly get better.
I have to believe they will, because I'm sick of being the first sail blown up when things get tense, and must maintain some hope that I will get better.:P
