"Imma prove mah skillz on this shooter game by exploiting mechanics that prevent the opponent from shooting me back! tee-hee" Srsly, why do you even login? You're not here for the game play, you're here for something else.
This exactly. Just to piss off the players who want to have fun.

Missiles track the current target, and does not require any abuse of out-of-game mechanics for in-game function (just so we are clear: you dont have to do anything for them to continue tracking, just dont select another target). Ramming for the purpose of spinning the target so they cannot fire or evade is entirely different.
Furthermore blaming the use of ramming on the other person is a whole nother level of lame. "If they didn't try to flee I wouldn't need to exploit! It's their fault I'm exploiting"

Wrong. Sorry.

It's not an exploit. You're calling it that, the rest of us aren't. Your wrong, the majority is right.

(EDIT- And this is addressing a multitude of people)
It seems to me that some people here look at any aspect of the game, and start to rant about how it's constantly used the wrong way, when in reality, it is on "occasion" used in the wrong way. But.... EVERYTHING can be used in the wrong way, because of this should we remove EVERYTHING? Nah.
Stop taking these things so far over the top. It's like listening to drooling two year olds complain that the other kid has more blue legos than the others.
Act your age.... or, reply and make a claim that everything I said is wrong and that I'm really describing myself.... like your average day immature child would do.
I start this topic - because I belive that there should be restored rule about deliberate and repeated ramming.
I wanted to know is that (IMHO) obvious abuse of that game mechanic is a common situation.
--
In my situation - I was sitting still, so there was no reason to continuous ramming (and shooting) on my ship,
I was trying to RP with the intent to survive a given situation - but it was hard to talk/chat and at the same time dodge both firing and hitting.

I think it should be against rules, but the griefers do not, and right now the griefers out number the people who play for fun.
+1
It IS an exploit and it IS ooRP, think you can just ram big capital ships in your fighter and NOT die? LOL
I fly a barge, people like to ram me into submission, theres no way for them to kill me, so they just ram me until help arrives from a couple bombers or capship. Not only is this completely ooRP (cause you'd be disentigrated upon first ram) but its just plain bad play and violating rule 0.0 (imo), if the pirates can't RP properly, they turn to exploits like this, i guess they feel 'Entitled' to pirate you, and just because their ship class isn't capable of doing it inRP they have to go ooRP.
What ever happened to a countdown and KABOOM? that'll stop the stallers/lolsilent dockers. I hoenstly don't see why any pirate would ever have to ram anybody, just blow em up if they dont pay quick enough! When i used to pirate once i issued a cut-engine demand, if they didnt cut within a few seconds i opened fired - completely inRP and done properly.
I just don't understand how something like this so obviously ooRP is tolerated..

In my opinion a ship instantly popping out of existence next to a space station is both as ridiculous and as much of an exploit as ramming to prevent it.

yup and some of the same people are the first ones to use "fear for your life" when they try to pirate you, and crash into planet before engagement to avoid PVP death too... fear for their life, not so much, its not as convenient
