With the indy traders going where-ever they want, they do anyway, so they might as well be able to semi-RP it and get a FL IFF. Besides, loose cannons (i.e. Freelancers) are mistrusted by most factions where these indy traders arn't supposed to be, for example Gamma. A trader with a Freelancer IFF will be treated just a suspiciously as a police IFFed trader. Traders think the trader ID gives them lisence to go anywhere, the Freelancer IFF won't make a difference.
