how did we manage to transfer equipt before we could jump into conn? we flew to a spot that we had pre-arranged via forumlancer, and then we met up and worried that we weren't going to get jacked, etc. it was dangerous, and that was more fun. if everything is easy, then there is no value in achievement
You can die only once per 2 hours in a system or to the same person. No exceptions to that rule anymore.
Nobody are forced to enjoy only one aspect (here: PvP) of the game. Create trader chars, make money and you can buy as many different ships from different factions you want to dedicate to PvP as many you want. And then once you died in this corner of Sirius, you can log in that other corner of Sirius without breaking any rule.

It would be impossible to train against your actual enemies.
How so? Just make an agreement that you want to train with them, if they are up to it and will ignore the relevant rules so you all can train, you won't have to wait 2 hours to come back. That's no different in Conn, you have to agree with your opponent there too.

Lol, you must be really new AND cocky for that. I bet if you don't rush into a fight hot headed as a fairly new guy, you'll survive longer. That can apply to older players too as well as any other games.

Training is anything improving your skills without killing you. A regular PvP session can be considered training too.

You talk like everybody outside of Conn wold be a PvP pro, or that you would have no chance of improvement out here. "Being your character" isn't about PvP skills. It's about acting. Of course you can't properly portray your supposedly hunter killer ace if you suck at PvP, would be quite a bold choice.

Remember you have to gather the faction members in a single place in order to train. In some cases that would require a lot of time that can be spent better. For example flying somewhere out of Connecticut after training.
It's not necessarily better, but it's neither worse. You have to gather folks around yourself to train with in Conn either, and lol, Amit been talking about training NEAR A BASE, please do tell me how far you have to travel from a base to be right next to it.

System with no apparent purpose other than providing a non-RP environment on an RP server, an environment with less restriction from rules you can already ignore with a general consensus but with it's own additonal regulations. It doesn't seem to provide any valuable alternative for PvP than the rest of the game, only that you don't have to stay inRP in there, which imo shouldn't be that hard in general. Hey, if not deleted, at least it could be reused as something else, some new system somewhere, something inRP.
Additionally, the two hour rule itself is a kinda nasty thing, it rearranges the priorities of the combattants, encourages them to rather stay alive than to kill their opponent(s). It encourages you to do better than the other more than if you'd know your death is nothing and that you are back into play after a few clicks. If you stay alive, you can stay in game and continue fighting, if you don't, you are off for two hours in the area. If you kill your opponent before he kills you, you can stay, if not, you are off. It's not like Conn, where you die and "oh snap, he killed me, npnp, 2 clicks and I'm back". The space outside Connecticut is flavoured this tiny bit of realism of thrill the tw hour rule grants us, and while I'm one of the crappier guys when it comes to PvP, that's still one of the reasons I never really wanted to go to Conn for PvP, save for a few exceptional occasions.
