Official faction perks - why?

Well I don't disagree to that at all, but I don't see it as the answer to "why perks?", but maybe it's just me.

I'm not necessarily opposed to the idea. I just hope it isn't done heavy-handed, that it supports those 2-3 key players in each faction just right, and that it doesn't create more problems than it hopes to solve.

We'll have to see what's it all about before taking stances. So far, and with the info I have, I can only say that I'm glad to see Official Factions be given a little extra care.

But wait, I haven't heard of any perks that affect official faction "players", only perks that can be used by the official faction "as a group". A Rheinland Military indie cruiser captain can do the same (or even more) than the freshest recruit of [RM], but the [RM] as an official faction has more "powers" than any other unofficial or untagged Rheinland Military group or individual pilot.

It's these powers that require responsibility and good conduct, a requirement that lays on the shoulders of every single member of such official faction, for they are representatives of such group.

I find this ironic when the first three factions I was introduced to on the server had written themselves exemptions to the NPC foundation.

Let's take a look at faction creations now. Unofficial factions looking forward to gain officiality must meet the requirements of activity, quality and quantity. Current official facitons don't.

Let's see examples on personal level that we are familiar with.

Ageira Innovations didn't become offical because we had 5 days of activity by 3 players. .
[C] with only one hour and no active members rulewise is still official.

Double standards. And you cannot deny the fact that this is different treatement.

Just because you aren't official yet doesn't mean you will not be. I checked your Request thread, and you are not denied yet. I find it a bit early to cry for double standards at this point.

Besides I'm sure I'd have a hard time keeping [C] official in it's current state should there be a concurrent Council faction aiming for officialdom.
