VIP yacht

Several factions need a "non-criminal" and "non-house" gunboat for use--freelancers being a good example of such.

Is it yacht or fighting vessel then?

I like the look but not the weapons location. More guns firing forward then back implies it is suppose to be an attack vessel. The experiences I have had in my Agiera transport haven't been me attacking the Lane Hackers, its been me running for my life. The thought is that your trying to run from your opponent not joust with them. ESPECIALLY in a VIP vehicle.

The president doesn't hop into his limo when he gets shot at and then pop out the sun roof with 50 caliber machine gun and unload in the direction of the shooter. (as amazingly awesome as that would be. bet you Arnold would do that if he was president :cool:). No, the limo makes a run for it and the Secret service (escorts in this case) shoot in the general direction to cover the escape.

2 forward facing guns. 2 Omni Directional and 3 rear facing. is my opinion. No blind spots.

I agree with the limiting of the cargo space. HOWEVER, that is ONLY if it is to be a civilian Gunboat.
Many Corporations would work with and get licensed to more heavily armor their transportation.

The CEO of Ageira would NEVER fly in anything less then the most modern and well armored transport due to the constant attacks on his life by the Lane Hackers(LH) and other groups hired by the LH.

Well, the only way to take out bombers is to thrust ahead, strafe, and fire everything you've got behind you. Limiting the rear turrets means it has low potential of killing a bomber, but the Cruiser shield provides adequate protection, coupled with the small size. The mine launcher can further defend the ship, until it manages to cruise away.

The forward firepower is meant as defence against gunboats. Notice the powerplant values I proposed, it's not like you can do alot of damage with a 300K/30K powerplant.

The words VIP and Yacht would remind people of something very luxurious compared to other classes of vessels in the transports category. I would concentrate on giving it more armor and upping the prize instead of meddling with its firepower and gunnery. Yacht doesn't resemble any sort of battle machine at all, sorry. Either think of another name or revamp the concept.

The Luxury Liner has gunboat firepower and an insane amount of regens (700/700). You don't see cruise ships today with 50cals, 100mm autocannons and crew experienced in repairing battle damage.

Space is a whole different thing. The uncontrolled nature of it calls for both strong defence and adequate offense. A high ranked Military officer would not go on a cruise to Luxury Liner Hawaii on a ship with a defense potential of a transport. That would be suicide and an excellent opportunity for Rogues, Hackers and the Order to ambush him. And off-duty, he would not be granted military escorts, especially for a trip to the other side of Sirius.

You sir have apparently never been to the seas in southern Africa...

VIP Yackts aren't JUST for vacations. Figure that they will also be used to transport HIGH profile dignitaries about during Meetings and for Inspections. I would be using these for my Dignitaries and such till the next mod. ANYHOO. sure shields and armor and stuff but I don't feel like eating SN( or what ever they make next mod)..
