Carriers are really used by players... but the docking modules only allow 1 player to dock and rarely that happens. This idea will bring them an oportunity against those snubs torpedo spammers... and also, will make those crazy pilots to think it twice before attack for fun a "big fish" because they can... hahahaha.
And personally i think the code would not be hard. Its pretty similar when an admin spawn some nomads NPCs around with a command...
An excellent idea. Of course if it becomes a thing, I guess it'll take some time fine tuning with regards to balance, but at the end, it'll finally give carriers a reason to exist.
What makes you think a snub can't deal with 5 NPCs? If someone can do VHF missions without taking too much damage then I don't see the use of these NPCs.

It was reverted as far as I know, since many people were getting 15% lag.
Edit: I think this is a really weak concept that will only contribute to lag the server further. And god knows what happens when you have 4 LolCarriers mass deploying these drones

it is possible to create npcs that can destroy players, I am sure balance devs can handle that
Remember the operation royal flush, there wasnt any lag and there was more than 20 battleship and more than 20 snub.

What are you talking about? There was lag. Those closer to the server must not have felt it, but those away from server certainly felt the pinch

for some reason i'm still curious why we don't have it implemented in game already. carriers are supposed to carry snub wings inside of them and burp them onto hostile targets. despite of all, those'd be npcs which are pretty easilly to be shot. 'cus, like, without those drones or whatever you call it, carriers are just some alternate to battleships
