Being the target isn't fun, ye. But then again it's just as fun having to dodge Solarises and Razors from bigger ships.

That's why you mix fleets to have a rock-paper-scissor chain. Gunboats > Fighters > Bombers > Gunboats, and in balanced numbers, not 10 fighters and one gunboat or something. The idea is to give everyone a job, not everyone the same job.
