Consider this a chance to brush up on your synonyms.
Igiss said he doesn't want cussin'. So we don't cuss. Simple as that.
The admins are not biased in this regard. I'm plenty chummy with them, I got my 7 days for dropping the F bomb. If I had told them to pound sand afterwards, cussed up additional storms or otherwise compounded my slipup that 7 would have become a month and beyond, like for anyone else.
RP situation or intent does not apply. I can assure you my F bomb was perfectly in character.
Igiss doesn't care if there's a Corsair NPC out there who tells you to do the most horrible things to your mother. This is an environment where people should be able to bring their kids.
So treat it as such.
Furthermore, some people are inclined to use this thread as a giggle worthy platform to drop all manner of swearing in a "constructive" platform. Let me see this thread get any stupider and it'll sink faster than a fast thing. -DL

or swear in his mother tongue because he could not work out how the Chat system was working can be EXCUSED.
There's no such thing as a new player when it comes to the rules.

They are not needed, but punishment toward the usage of slang should be HIGHLY moderated.
Not be all white or all black.
It should reflect the *real* situation, and admins should listen to the TWO parties when there are conflicts, which they DO NOT. Particularly Hoodlum.
Accept it like slaves? You accepted it when you joined the server... Its not your server, its a community server ran by a small group of people who judge what is deemed too far or not. They are intelligent people, unlike myself and some others idiots that join this place. Darn hackers.
Am I right in saying that you are directly attacking Hoodlum there? Sanctions to my knowledge are not judged by one person, but by a group. This is not a dictatorship, if so Hoodlum fits the bill and we'd all be making pyramids for him by now. There are OTHER admins in here, not just the dark lord himself.
I'm happy with the rules set by the admins if that's what your saying. I follow the rules as a sign of respect. Too admins are not overly biased. Show me proof of that then I'll give you a cookie.
Bottom line, you follow the rules you then you're okey, break them? I have no pity for you.
edit: Also, typing it in suggest premeditation. I mean normally wouldn't you just say it? In stead of typing it out? (Flashbacks to Monty python and the search for the holy grail)

What do you insinuate here ?
Quote:This is not about a critique towards the admins.
It is a discussion among the members of the community about proper conduct and the meaning of the expression on the server.
It appears that behind the 3.2 issue , the reality is that some admins apply that 3.2 rule with blinded eyes.
What i'm saying is that players should have the opportunity to explain themselves and be forgiven for inadequate actions. Admins are aparently not opened to this neither.
No rule change, no discussion, military policy.
If you don't like the rule and the ways that it is enforced you have an option open to you other than accepting it..... Move to a different server. Although I am willing to bet 100mill credits that you will find the same rule on every open server out there.
What I do not insinuate, but clearly say, is that you are bitterly mistaken if you think anyone will allow you to insult the position of an administrator and attempt to create a forum trial because you/a friend or whatever got sanctioned.
Let's get this back on topic shall we? Serious discussion please, without mocking each other, eh?
Now.. I'd like clarification on my earlier post in this thread:
Quote:Many things depend on situations.
Some words, like the f-word, and the like, should not be used in any situation whatsoever.
But for example, me flying into battle shouting "Your as* is grass, *insert enemy here*!" is perfectly in RP IMO.
Or, saying "Those bastards just took out three of our men!" is also in RP.
"Crap! Losing power! Ejecting!" is perhaps somewhere in between, but still allowed IMO.
Just use your common sense, don't use the "big" swear words, and never ever point any kind of derrogative term on another player ( not a character )
However, calling someone anything out of roleplay, even such a "small" thing like telling someone he's an idiot, retard, or stupid, is very bad form.
And about threats, well it says clearly in the rules that RP threats are allowed.
So please tell me if I am right or wrong, random knowledgeable person and/or admin.
