Yes, making them hostile.

But really, would Outcasts want to roam through Omicron Iota? That concept sounds really wrong to me.

Yeah, hostile reps:P

I don't think Outcasts are actually friendly towards Nomads, just a case of not hunting them on sight like the rest of the sector. After all, they still "stole" part of the Nomads' space, and are as abhorrent as the rest of humanity.

Having said that, there are a lot of alliances around that don't need to exist...it seems that the intent is to shoehorn every unlawful faction into the Outcast or Corsair camp...and even some of the lawful factions. Wheras, most pirate factions probably couldn't care less about the militaristic side of those factions, and only want their illegal produce at most (see Rogues and Outcasts, Gaians and Corsairs).

Considering how far it is from Alpha to Dresden, I can't see the Hessians really caring about the Outcasts' military situation...if Malta fell tomorrow, the Hessians would shrug a little and blow up some more Daumann miners...

The fact that the Corsairs are tied down in the Sigmas by the Outcasts is naturally of benefit to the Hessians, but one hardly saw Americans fielding T-34 regiments in 1944 (and that was only a planet-wide war, imagine the logistical problems of a war where the 2 "allies" are separated by 5 solar systems!)

Regarding Mollys and IMG, they, along with Hessians, make for the miners who dislike the major corporations. Hessians and Mollys make up the more violent elements, while IMG are the guys who went "Pah, we're gonna find our own fields, byee". IMG supplies Mollys from the Hood, and one can find Hessian NPCs in the bar in Omega 7...both unlawful groups sympathise with the IMG's plight.

The Corsair angle is an interesting one, with regards to IMG...I believe there are missions against them offered from the Hood, but I have yet to find conclusive evidence of the exact relationship, be it a "look the other way while they raid BMM/Rheinland corps" or an Outcast-esque "dang, Sair raiding party spotted, make sure they don't make too much of a mess of our stations, guys...let's hope they move on to some juicier targets".

And finally, with regards to the IMG side, depends on the Hessians actions towards Gateway and ALG, both of which are close economic partners, and both of which are potential targets for commerce raiding.

I agree. OC and Hessians should be neutral. IMG should be friendly-ish, like BD and GMG are pretty much. They have an 'understanding'.

Also, you'll find IMG and Corsair NPCs duking it out around the Dublin to Leeds and Cambridge to Leeds jump holes, so I think they're already hostile. Listing it on the faction infocard would be nice, though.

Mollys and Hessians has been stated to death. They both have interests in the Omegas, while the Outcasts are primarily concerned with the Corsair menace in the Sigmas and Omicrons. Sure, their actions in the Sigmas help keep the Corsairs from outflanking them and invading Rhienland from the north, but we saw how that played out in the RM vs TBH war.

That is, the RM is more than capable of beating back any Corsair aggression. Hessians mostly care about Omegas 5, 7, 11, 41, and 47. They shouldn't be raiding Gamma, really... you scarcely see Hessian NPCs in Omega 41 even. I'd also like to see some more action in 47, an empty system with RP potential.

IMO, the only real Outcast allies there should be are the Hackers and Golden C. The Rogues maybe, but that'd be the Cardamine link only, and it's a tenuous one. As Del's started to shape the Rogues' RP, we see that the entire faction isn't hooked on the stuff like the Hackers or GC are. BD was always a 'friend of a friend' deal, and don't really see what's up with the Mollies.

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend" is really turning into a massive tangle of alliances. Sirius is becoming largely polarized over a war taking place primarily in the deep Edge Worlds. Doesn't rightly make much sense.

The Outcasts are based around ruthless capitalism; the trade of Cardimine, and the exploitation of those who become hooked on it.
The Hessians are ex-miners who revolted, and have socialist sympathies.

Outcasts are centred around exploitation. Hessians are centred around liberation.
You've got the Bundschuh there. The Hessians have had their revolutionary aims watered down by piracy and corruption (the NPC faction that is. That doesn't seem to be the way the RHA like to play things though) where as the Bundys avoid pirating and are strictly political.

By all means, cut the Hessian/Outcast alliance though. Like Zapp said, too many factions are getting pulled into a war that has nothing to do with them.

Not entirely. There's plenty of rumours on Hessian bases that maintain that only a part of the Hessians is simply pirates and cutthroats, while the other part is still ideological. The RHA take this to the next level by playing Hessians as a revolutionary group who took on the idea of "the ends justify the means" as one of its main points of modum operandi.

Also, the Bundschuh are largely pirates now too, since they need to do it to survive.

The barman on Vogtland is a revolutionary all the way, though.

Base rumours wise, the Bundies are all legit revolutionaries. Hessians seem split by location more than anything. Guys on ronneburg just talk about killing corsairs all day, but yeah, the vogtland bartender is old school.
