Ok--here is the textured model in Milkshape. I went for the "rusted look" (using Jinx's Salvager textures) so it would resemble a current ship look and have the appearance of old. Let's assume a few of the old infiltrators are still owned by Junkers here and there so these would be "classics". Rust would be due to being stored on bases or in cargo bays.

Thanks--just on the cargo pod. No one outside Gallia back then would have attached any emphasis to it. It would have been like an spade from a card deck or some other icon for another space group. Good way for Gallics to recognize one another and their depots.
This is a space vessel... not a derelict sea vessel that's about to sink to the bottom of the ocean from years of neglect. ;)
Looks like an old tin-can that would implode if space-dust even grazed the SHIELD.
Edit: And wouldn't it take eons for something to rust out in space... if even at all? Doesn't make sense for a space vessel to be so heavily rusted unless they literally raided to terrestrial junkyard to bolt the thing together and that was the original condition of the parts. IMHO, remove the rust COMPLETELY and give it burn scars and dents (battle damage) to show that its weathered many a mine-field and backwoods trade routes through asteroid fields and exploding gas pockets.
Just as we reap the golden wheat, must we also cut free of the chains! [eS]

These are several hundred year old ships left over from the infiltration. The rust can also serve as camouflage, making them look like junk metal dumped in space or pieces of old ships lost in the mines.
In real lie, some interior rusting could occur but unless the ships were in atmosphere holding cargo bays (this one as) rust wouldn't be an issue.
Its easy to change the textures. I'll put an alternate out when I have a chance.
Don't get me wrong, I like the model and its a big improvement over your initial infiltrator. I just think the rust makes it look like something pulled up from the Mariana Trench.;) Also might want to ditch the fleur de lis. Kind of a give-away for a vessel thats suppose to be incognito. Otherwise, model is great. Looks perfectly built for its intended purpose.

I personally liked the idea of rust as camouflage. Not terribly realistic in space I know, but still.
Perhaps something else to make the ship look more worn though. Some rough patches to make it look like the hull was degraded by radiation, some pock marks from micro meteorite that hit when the shields were down (or perhaps a different looking spot form where nanobots repaired this damage) and maybe a scorch mark or two either from weapons fire or, more likely, from getting too close to a mine.
