Wha?! It was fine, better than the current one.

Always save Jinx's images. They disappear randomly.

I guess it failed some kind of technical criteria, because the model itself is great. I suspect the explanation will involve some kind of developer language using words like 'splicing' and 'vertices'.
no - the reason i decided it doesn t fulfil the quality criteria is cause this specific shape was too hard to skin appropriately. - so the mesh is OK ( at least the general shape of the ship ) - but many of the separate faces / triangles ) were so messed up that i wasn t able to apply a good skin on it that would fit. - the result was a mess of skins that looked more like a patchwork.
while it can be solved in a way - its easier to start new and refine the ideas ( as well as applying oblong containers that time instead of tubes ) - and a nicer shape for the turret placements - so its not only covering the top but a more generous allround arc.
of if one likes the very simple terms why i cancelled it... :
i was too lazy to make a proper skin for that model and rather made a new one.
its simpler again - but meant to look heavier. - i reduced the number of windows on that one, too considerably - it should now be within reasonable terms - ... and i have moved the hardpoints back to the original places ( 8 on the sides of the containers - 2 on the top of the nose, 2 on the bottom of the nose ).
one might say "the joint between the containers and the main section is very thin" - but its not really. - its heavier than the trains links - and the whole frameworks looks quite solid, really.
i have NOT skinned it with the ornamental bretonian red / white that time, cause i just cannot get the hang on that. - it looks horrible. - so its only a dark grey - which is duller but makes it look more serious and also heavier armoured.
one of the greatest changes is the placement of the engine. - formerly it had one large engine in the rear - and two smaller ones in the front. ( CDing only one of them would mean to disrupt it ) - now the engine is placed in the center / middle of the ship - and it thrusts "through" the gap of the containers. - that means that it cannot really be stopped by a wasp or a smaller CD anymore unless hit from the side. - a train CD / reinforced CD can still catch it of course. - its thruster is immune to blast damage now ( cause its so much inside the model ) - unless its hit by a capital ship-to-ship missile ... or a nova of course.
the whole design should look like its a heavy transport, well protected. it hasn t got many "fancies" about it - no sophisticated ornaments, nothing to "show off".

I prefered the control module on the last version. The one that was more Shetland-looking, while this one is just... A block. In combination with the skin, I'd say the Shire's lost it's distinctive Bretonian look.
I'd also say that the joint connecting the cargo pods to the bridge was too small. Probably too easy to destroy.
Though I like this new container transport...The grey skin makes it look much more like a Libertonian container transport than not (saywhat? Liberty can has container transport?).
Are there plans to skin it as a Bretonian affair? If not, and I hate to sacrifice such a brilliant model, but perhaps it should be Libertonian if it can't be skinned Bretonian.
Alternatively, the ship could be skinned in the bretonian capital style: Light grey with gold highlights, and let the colors of the lighting in bretonia bring out the color.
i can try to apply the bretonian ornaments. - but i cannot tell if it will decrease the overall skin quality severely in doing so. - it may look more bretonian afterwards - but also lower quality. - a bit of a dilemma.
