You misunderstood me Arvg. I didn't dismiss it. I just said it could have been done much better. "I can" and "I will" are very different things.

I know joe, thus the edit. I want it clear that I appreciated every bit of input you have had in this plot line, and I remain committed to the fact that nothing is resolved without your input.

In fact, Adrian and I have both discussed this at length and we both agree that *even* if we can get Katz elected, there is no assurance the seperation vote (spereate from the elction) will go his way. NOR then if it does, it is practically impossible to assume that the newly freed Ontario will ever join the Coalition.

The goals are far too high, we concede that and we are RP-ing with that in mind.

We just want the opportunity to actually give it a go. To see where the plot takes us, so far it has been quite exciting. I am loving the courtroom sparring, frankly. It has been an excellent show so far from Zapp.

I like the interaction I am having from many other factions who are exploring the idea of a free Ontario, and those who are very much opposed to it.

The point I am making here is, yes I know you guys are tired and maybe didn't want to deal with this with a busy plate that you guys have. But you have to give credit where it is due, this could be a very interesting plot line if explored.

arvg, perhaps you should discuss the direction of this RP with me. Keeping things one-sided doesn't lead things like this to good ends. The most extreme would be me just throwing you in Attica:PI don't wanna go there, that's one card I'd like to always leave unplayed. So seriously, there should be some general framework that we RP within if we're going to do this the right way.

(I have cooled down, and couldn't stay away:().

Also, the Chief of Police doesn't deal with legalities. It's a political job:PI'm not a huge fan of courtroom RP. I'm not a great debater. I'm putting up a good show of getting slaughtered, though apparently that's what I was supposed to be doing?

From what I could have read up about Katz, I must say one thing. Ontario really never looked better. Not because of him, but because of activity. It is kinda shame that other officers that replied in that text didn't pm you Zapp. Or Joe.
Such important transmitting should have been picked up and directed to you.
But Alvin should have done the same thing with actually messaging you both as leaders.
From there things could have gone differently, without asasination attempts and things like that.

I won't call it powergaming, such nice idea for the system just doesn't deserver such an label. Mostly because he said himself many times that he doesn't mind losing the actual race to the "throne"
It is also good to see that an non admin run story can revive a system greatly. Now just imagine if he has done it in the right spot with alot of supporters - Rheinland

Another reason we should stay out of liberty.

Shall we take a little break from this event, for a day or something, come back after we are all calm and refreshed?

What gets me is the power-gaming accusations, that is what really annoyed me.

When a trial looked imminent I contacted an Admin to act as judge, I made him a promise that I would abide by his ruling, and asked him to be unbiased in the proceedings. He agreed. This step was taken to ensure that no Power-gaming occurred.

I have never tried to speak with the voice of Ontario. I am not its Governor, nor have I issued any orders to that effect. I have, repeatedly conceded on that issue.

When Yue posted the first time, I had strong suggestions to just have the post deleted. But I said no, because even though I felt it was a power gaming move, it was still fair. We mobilized a group of writers and tried to write it into the story line.

The second post was over the line. And I asked for it to be removed, but I still had the legacy of the first post to deal with, and as a result another player that wouldn't give up the bone no matter how many times I asked him to just back down. Again the option was delete his obviously hard work, or deal with it. We worked to deal with it rather than delete it.

Now then as for the population of Toronto Station outnumbering the police force.

Huron's info card states that the miners of Huron live on Toronto Station. Plus, add to that, an important Hockey game which would draw citizens from Severan, Thunder bay and Hamilton, the population was swelled.

Of course, under those circumstances, the population would outnumber the police. It is crazy to think the reverse. That would be like saying the entire population of the city of New York were cops. it just doesn't make sense. I went with logic, few cops dealing with a large crowd.

I never once said they were all on my side. In fact I had drafted a rather lengthy post detailing that the fight was very back and forth through out the station. Unfortunately the second arrest attempt occurred and I had to abandon said post. Because I was, yet again, out of action.

Also, I placed myself at the discretion of an event that was being planned by the GC/LN groups. One of which was an assassination squad. Again in an effort to be co-operative.

To sit down to lunch today and open this thread was a shock. It is disheartening, and insulting to me. I thought I had made every effort to be fair and accommodating. I tried my best to reign in power-gaming because I hate it just as much as the next guy. But to actually be accused of causing it. That upsets me greatly.

ontario was a system that was never talked about, and was only visited to get around the cali, riverside station lane.
now it get's talked about, the LRF have something to do, and there's some really decent RP in a couple of threads, i really like what katz has done.

as for powergaming, yeah i think it would be powergaming if arvg wanted to own ontario, but that hasnt come across in his RP for me, instead it looks like he's taken a boring system, set off a political bomb in it and has encouraged others to help direct the story.

As someone who has been going with this RP since before the Ontario governor storyline even began, I have to congratulate all parties involved on the fact that we have a high quality RP, involving multiple factions, and well written for the most part.

I am seriously disappointed however in that so many people here are punishing Katz for a technicality of 'not telling X faction leader'.

Look, I could have been mad at Osaka and Katz for powergaming their way into Kawada research station to steal an artifact without contacting the GC or Consortium and arranging an event. Instead, I went with it, and have been having fun thus far sinking my claws into Liberty, and I'd very much enjoy continuing to do so.

This is a large, open, and very well written RP, one of the better ones I've been a part of in my time on the server. This is the kind of stuff that should be encouraged. Intelligent interaction between players and factions, political intrigue, clashing ideals and motives, this is the kind of stuff this server was made for. Rather then the day-to-day drudgery of shooting each other.

Would Katz have become Governor in real life? No. But it happened here, and it's lead to a large and spontaneous open RP event, something I'd be happy to see more of. Katz, Blunt, Zapp, Joe, Tabris, most of the people involved should be praised for this, rather then nitpicking a few technicalities here and there.

And since I've already gone through the trouble of rounding up a posse, and setting the groundwork for hunting down and capturing Katz (which was my intent since before he came to Liberty), I'm continuing my part(s) in this RP.

All that begins must end.

Didn't actually know Osaka got the artifact from a GC base until after it had been obtained.

Though so help me, I farking told people about that plot too! again and again and again. AND faction leaders involved know about it. Let's keep *that* plot away from this one before I'm mobbed on that one too.
