Ignore order indies completely, and form the cells within that main Order.
I agree with all Tena said, but I dont agree with what Ivan said at all.
There are goor RPers among order indies, and there are few groups(factions) within order, that are not offical, and they can show good RP too.
So... I dont agree with that.

Treewyrm Wrote:The bottom line that Order's primary enemies (Nomad conglomerate and your friendly neighbor local house subsidiaries) are all either invite-only or semi-invite factions, either way the numbers are quite limited. I'm afraid there is nothing to do about that, unless you got an idea. Cause I've been pondering about solutions for like... two years I think, and none of the ideas that I came up with were viable solutions for various reasons.
Get more non-Keeper Nomad players that are allowed to stay only in Delta, o99,o90,Iota, and who may only leave those systems if a Keeper asks them to.
Just adjust the rep on simple forum request, let that be the trial period instead of morph.

lose?
When you figure out how many trial nomads is there now... looking just for PvP imagine what would happen if they get access to Nom weapons and stuff.. ships.. everyone would overwhelm it and to control that would be impossible.
Edit: Morph is fine. Edit: And system we have now is fine... i guess.

If the guy would have to have a name like Nomad-Ka'ching and he is seen out of those systems on longrange without a Keeper with him, you report it and admins take his ship away.
Its easy. More easy than any other rule violation. And I'd rather a few of those than ***lolwut*** morphs all over the place.
People would spend their money on those nomad caps, trade wouldnt collapse like it would if only few people could have cap ships
The Nomad systems would be properly guarded.
Keepers would stand a chance in fights.
Keepers would have a better eye on them
Yep they would pvpwhore and cap whore. But only in the nomad systems. I got no problem with that.
EDIT:
If they dont do it there as nomads, they will do it somewhere else in a more populated system.

Sounds easy than it's done. That would require modification of server rules, IDs and so forth. How would that be enforced on practice?
There is also a matter of responsibility. Factions are responsible for members in many ways (factions who break rules constantly may get whooped by banhammer), but who would be responsible for players who are not members of the faction but "approved" by said faction? Wouldn't that make the faction responsible for said players too (considering they have "approved" them in the first place) and in what capacity? Tricky and sensitive matter, but quite important, cause it affects many things. Right now no one needs any "approval" to make a trial character, it's free for everyone, as such responsibility is solely on the player controlling the trial character, not us.
Reporting is not a solution. I seriously doubt admins would approve that cause it'll put a lot more "paperwork" for them, they're not machines serving sanctions automatically. Whole thing would need a more resourceful approach that would avoid common pitfalls. Better be cautious than sorry, a whole lot can easily go wrong there.
p.s. Will reply in PM. Subject of indie/semi-indie nomads implementation is quite off topic.

Too much job for admins, Keepers stand chance in fight, Keepers have an eye on all morphs (check Treeywrms sig, that nomad trial registration lead to Keeper forum, where morphs apply, so Keepers can watch their progress.)
That thing is good as it is, Morphs are good enough.

Write in the Nomad ID: may not leave Iota, 99, 90 without the company of a keeper.
Got a screenie of the guy shooting his gun in another system and no Keeper in that system?
Chardelete.

Approval of a Nomad is automatic once requested in the forums, and the guy isnt blacklisted by keepers.
Who is responsible for the morphs now?
Every time I see a poor guy talking ***blisters*** in peoples ears on his morph char in order to get noticed by Keepers, I wonder 'who is responsible for this'?
Everyone is responsible for themselves.
concerning new order allies, how about they had lane hackers as allies in liberty? order is mostly a faction that should be gathering information and lane hackers can be very useful in this, since they have the technology to gather data from trade lanes. they could be very useful to the order. the question is what could the order offer in return.
i was thinking that the order could exchange the information for 'clean' artifacts, but i guess thats not much of an option, since they want to eliminate artifact markets in general (do they, actually? im not sure about this)
or does someone have any other ideas? someone that actually knows what order could offer except for some nomad tech?

there is a specific keeper forum that is used by the applicants to show that they can rp a nomad entity. keepers approve/disapprove of the given screens or logs of given rp. thats how the system works. i wouldnt really go the way of adjusting the rep by admins. it would be too many requests to handle. plus i can already see the amount of lolnomad pvp players all over sirius IF this whould be done.
Rather than some sort of Nomad superweapon destroying two fleets, why not just a heavy bombardment of Toledo, the Isis being driven off, the Order falling back and the BHG|Core diverting their attention upon the abandonment of Toledo. Or, even, Core going to scavenge through what remains there.
In any case, I do agree that something needs to be done, whatever it might end up being.
As you can see from my RP post to the order, the only way that a bd/order alliance will happen is if the order alliance was scrapped from ever happening. Should the alliance end, then we will possibly make them neutral/friendly. However, never a fully fledged alliance.
