Kills every Kusari bomber and fighter. If you have a turf war going on against the farmers alliance and hogosha especially, this ship will be able to thin the Black Dragon/Mamoru spam quite easily (and any pesky Chimeras and Umibozu's that decide to get involved).
Can't hit what you never see. Yeah, theoretically the recycler can go through one of those ships every 30 seconds.
However they are more agile than even our regular fighters. The tiny and agile black dragons and mamorus are exactly that. Tiny, agile, powerful. The recycler, being slower than many gunboats, just cannot get them into view. The kusarian ships dance circles around the SHF.
Your point about gunboats being restricted to the official factions is well...kinda moot. Back when they were active, the only ships we came across were Corsair and Gaian cap 8 gunboats.

Your points are theories, except the last one.
I know for a fact that you can get even the best pilot to make a mistake before you die. One mistake is all you need the enemy to make, if you're ready to take the shot with a supernova. Hell, if you can catch up to an Eagle in a Titan (and believe me, you can. Takes a bit of fancy flying though), the same principle would apply to bombers and fighters. Of course, the agility gap is larger, so the skill difference needs to be larger to compensate, but it is possible.
Most players in Kusari are inexperienced, especially on the lawful/quasi-lawful side. The sole exception to this that comes to mind is Casero who currently leads the KNF player faction. They arent generally too difficult to shoot down with a supernova and a medium bomber, let alone 260 regens and a pair of razors that you can shoot every pass for three passes on the trot. If you can't manage it, take the time to try to learn what it is you're doing wrong. You have bucketloads of time to learn, if you manage to make the Black Dragon/Chimera/other-fighter-here ebb away a GB haul of bots and bats from something a quarter of the size.
As for the GB problem, I had no idea that happened and have no idea to solve it. Could buy mafics though >_>

Hogosha ID says no no to gunboats, so what are they doing with them?

Gah, it's either "You should use your own shipline" or "You can use anything in the civi line"
I remember fighting a Black Dragon in an Eagle once. Never again. Those things are crazy agile. I don't expect to even see one in a Recycler.

Hogosha Guard allows you to fly gunboat. The agreement between BDS and the Corsairs allow BDS to give corsair GBs to indies too. I know because I have one for more then a year now, but I dont use it much nowadays.
Black Dragoon is awesome ship but eagle is awesome ship too so I would mark them both as very agile. Then the rest depends on the pilots skill. When the skill gap is serious strange things happen. I killed corsair GB with CSF and Molly base to pulse his shield once or LABC with Hacker Gunship.

The Eagle is still one of, if not the fastest VHF in the game.
The reason you were having trouble is because the black dragon is small, and the eagle just isn't. Let me prove that the Eagle is faster than the Black Dragon.
What you want to be looking at here is the "Max Angular", "Angular Distance" and "Time to 90% Max". Nudge and strafe force were included and would play a role, if they werent equal values. Mass isn't included, but shouldn't play a role either, as both ships have 150 mass.
As you can see, I shortened them so I could get all the info in, but the full titles are:
1- "Max Angular Speed (rad/s)"
2- "Angular Distance from 0 to 0.5 sec (rad)"
3- "Time to 90% Max Angular Speed (sec)"
1- means the maximum turn rate in radians of the ship
2- means how far the ship can turn in the first 0.5 seconds in radians
3- means the time it takes for the ship to accelerate its turn rate to 90% of it's full turn rate in seconds.
The higher the better, and the Eagle is higher in two of the three categories. In the time to 90% turn rate, the Eagle is a little more in real terms when compared to its maximum turn rate (evidenced by the higher value in 2-). This means that at no point should an Eagle be getting outturned by a Black Dragon, unless the latter pilot is pulling off some moves to catch up or even surpass your turn rate. Like beginning his turn before you...

Should've submitted a sanction report if you saw this <_<
But most, if not all Hogosha GBs carry the Hogosha Guard ID as Govedo said.
Actually I don't see a big issue with increasing Recycler/Ragnar/Mjolnir powercore capacity from 30k to something like 32-34 to remove the Supernova issue a bit. Recharge will stay the same (lower than light bombers) so mini razor/deb usefulness will remain very much unchanged.
Ragnar is at a disadvantage vs other freighters right now with small capacity, so it would help there as well.
Mjolnir has just 1 torp slot, so it should only affect the SN issue there.

btw. these 2 Flstat numbers are actually wrongly calculated and quite worthless:
' Wrote:2- "Angular Distance from 0 to 0.5 sec (rad)"
3- "Time to 90% Max Angular Speed (sec)"
Flstat numbers don't say anything about the responsiveness of a ship.
Igiss says: Martin, you give them a finger, they bite off your arm.
I think the 6 million credits price for the Recycler got stuck after it got converted from a Bomber to a SHF, back in the ol' days. Nobody bothered changing it, I guess? Or maybe they found the price suitable?
Recycler is a great ship. I have had no death's in it 1 on 1 against anything. 2on1? thats a diff story.
L fighters? just go about your buisness they are pests that can't do enough damage to stop you from docking.
HF's/VHF's If they joust? are toast. If they smart enough to dodge like mad? just go and dock.
Bombers? Do not joust. You got the armour/firepwer/bots/bats advantage, but a SNAC to a down sheild? and poof.
GB's? They are easy if you got a CD/SNAC. Just keep dumpping anti sheild mines on them, and then SNAC combo. They go poof.
All people need to remember is it is sometimes better to run, then fight. 2or3 on 1 and you are doomed no matter what they are in.
