Heres what I suggest. We know what the basic story line will be in 4.86. & the more we know whats going on in that update the better. We can start staging the events that will lead to the present events of 4.86. Instead of complaining lets makes somethin happen! If gallia is going to wage war with bretonia. Then get in game and do everything that leads up to that point. Create events that lead up to the decision to build certain ships being released in .86. This game has infinite potential but you all are bored and giving up on it. Lets make it fun again. Start short skirmish wars with other factions. Supply bases getting huge upgrades in .86 and make a server wide event that will tide us over a couple months.
And most importantly smooth the transition over to the new update.

the game is just too old. it dies sooner than later. 4.86 won't stop this process, it may slow down only.

That doesn't mean a game can't stay alive for many, many more years with a big fanbase

Sorry but it can't compete with the likes of Skryim, Call of Duty, Battlefield... etc... All the new games

Freelancer doesnt stand a chance unless you come out with small updates every now and again to keep the population stable otherwise you will lose them and they will not come back.

Seen many games die this way. Its slow.

Cam...your clearly just trying to stir the pot further to swing more people into your protesting and fighting ways. If you really believe all these things, why do you keep coming back and posting here? Surely you could be out playing all these other fantastic games. In the short time I've been here, I've seen mostly people just whinging and complaining that .86 hasn't come out yet. You give all these various options on why the mod won't live for much longer etc, and you make it sound like you really believe it to. But I find it hard to believe, because your still here posting all this negative stuff.

Could everyone just lighten up and wait patentially? I'm sure it would make every bodies jobs around here a lot easier.

This.
As you can see Skyrim it's on top because the game beats everything and it's made like the old school games (long and entertaining)

We do get incremental updates if you haven't noticed already.

The server is still hitting 180+ players at peak times. I don't see population as a problem.

I'm not convinced by the doomsayers.

180 at peak. Thing is that in the past at peak there was 200 people and 5 minutes of connect - ok, connect - ok.

Now the server just feels empty, I must agree there is little to do anymore.

There is a bare minimum of 30 people on the server at any time. It is nowhere near empty.

How many people do you need, to pew pew and RP with?
