C wut I did thar?
Remember that, in the United States, it used to BE the Army Air Corps, and then the Army Air Force. The US Air Force as a separate branch didn't happen until 1947. Yeah, Britain had the RAF as a separate entity in 1918, which makes them the oldest 'pure' Air Force. But normally most air arms started as part of the army for whatever nation they were in, as a support role if nothing else.
Note that in the US, there is STILL Army Aviation. All those cute little Apache gunships? Those are Army pilots - not Air Force.

Unless there's a difference in their equipment, means - Air Force is using only atmospheric crafts, that have superior technical characteristics compared to the spacecrafts, there's absolutely no reason to create separate branch of the military that have same equipment and same goals.
But, if Land forces still exist, they can have their own planes for CAS and air defense missions. But I really doubt land forces play a significant role in a freelancer. You can always cover the planet with orbital anti-matter (A-M devices are stronger then nuclear ones, right?) bombardment.
But "National Guard/Interior Troops" etc, no matter how it called, can definitely use some CAS and "air force". Although they won't play much role in space.
i know the name sounds cool, but we would like to reprsent the role of faction rather than just a cool name. can i make a liberty armed forces because i just like? just make some sense.
With the rarity of actual atmospheric battles in the Freelancer universe, that any house would have an entirely separate air force is highly unlikely. With the scale of the houses and the territory they must defend, it is more likely that the military would be split into two groups; Space forces and ground (including air) forces. Navy and Army. The Navy would have space forces and a limited amount of ground troops as reserves when needed. The Army would have a sizeable amount of soldiers, as well as controlling air vehicles, and water vehicles, should any military still employ them in Sirius.
Having an entirely separate branch of the military just for air units is entirely impractical and would not be used in a universe where the majority of wars are fought in space, in orbit, of planets, rather than the surface. Whoever controls the space around a planet, controls the planet. They can bombard any position on the planet with precision weaponry when needed. So once the enemy takes control of space, they can eradicate all ground-based forces with ease.
So no, there wouldn't be an Air Force. There would be air units inside the Army.
Furthermore, the Air Force, upon a nation getting considerable space power, would no longer control their space operations. While the USAF currently controls NASA and the U.S. space operations, that won't continue as soon as our space operations get large enough to need to become an entirely different branch of the military. Then a new division for them would be made and those operations would be removed from the needs of the Air Force. Freelancer is set in a universe that space operations are the largest part of the house's military operations. Given that space is far more comparable to the ocean than the atmosphere, the space forces of a nation being referred to as the Navy is far more likely than it being referred to as the Air Force. Especially considering there is no air in space, so the name wouldn't even make sense. The Air Force and current navy would be consolidated into the Army, then all space operations would be put under a newly created branch, taking over the name of the navy, or some other name such as Armed Forces or something else that is either ambiguous or connecting to space - Not air.
EDIT:
In fact, the most likely outcome would be naming it as the Security Force for all the operations the USAF currently controls; Watching space for dangerous items, cyber security, etc. Basically all-round protection.
LSF - Liberty Security Force. They watch space for dangerous items and people, they do cyber security, they provide protection for the population of Sirius.
People see LSF and think "Oh, and intelligence agency", but in reality, they are far more than that, they are intelligence, security, cyber security/warfare, police (remember the LPI is a private corporation, not a government agency for the purpose of keeping Liberty policed. LPI take out pirates and other fugitives.. Technically (forget IDs, think lore), the LPI aren't the ones who get to declare someone a fugitive, or criminal. LSF would do that, and once done, LPI would have the option to go after them and arrest them.
So in short; What you're trying to create already exists. It's already named exactly what it should be named given the history of the U.S. It already has an ID, a lore, and a tag. As well as an official faction to represent it.
During WW2, the American planes serving on carriers in the Pacific War were all under the command of the American Navy, if we're going with RL examples.
EDIT: What you're looking for is the LSF /Liberty security force/, which's -primary goal- is to -secure the economy of Liberty-, not hunt down Nomads.
And I don't understand why you're so mad about the name.
I like the idea/concept, and in my opinion, the name isn't that important.
Liberty Air Force just sounds pro, so why not?
Cause this isnt relaxed RP. If you want a cool name you find another one. Just make one thing clear, Liberty forces that arent working to protect civilians ( protection against pirates when no one else is there) doesnt happen then you have no RP at all. If you want RP in it , just tell we are corrupted forces of liberty and alll.......
COming back to the topic, Dab put a wonderful argurment. Theres no Answer towards it. If you can think of anything it would be great.
