I would use the Hugenot for DarkStar's ship... However, since it has changed a bunch, going toe to toe with House ships makes it rather hard in the Hugenot. So, I got a Battlestar. Not a Battlestar Adv, but a regular Battlestar. I think it fits better then the Huge anyway, considering that DarkStar works for a vast alien intersteller power.
But then, i've always been a bit obsessed with the big ships. ^_^;
This is the real true story of rock and roll; it was not about anything more then, how to live your life, as a gangster, in sartorial splendor, and turning the world into a place where normality would never return again...- Malcolm McLaren

Why shouldn't the mollys and rogues keep their huegenots?
They are easy enough (for NPC patriot patrols) to destroy and they are part of the RP background igiss is putting together.
The only thing that might be needed is for the outcasts to start using huegenots.

Huegenots are cruisers which is entirely possible. But it is unlikely a single pirate would have a fully crewed and working battleship. But an entire faction could have a few, but it would not be used on individual fighters but for interference for house battleships. For example if they were to get something from a highly defended area, the BS would guard while normal gunboats and cruisers got the stuff. But it wouldn't be cost effective to use a battleship after a single train, which is why single pirates would not be using one.

Ever heard of slaves? Prisoners?
Cost effective? What are you on about?
If we wanted realistic cost effctiveness then there'd be no BS's in ANY faction due to the massive amount of money you'd need to pay out for it's upkeep.
Stop making up reasons for single players NOT to have a BS. You've been given numerous reasons why lone pirate BS's would be flying around.
Guys, lets not go down the route of ENFORCING Players to have a specific ship class just cause they're pirates, terrorists or jolly good fellows.
I'm SERIOUSLy against the idea. And I don't want anyone going around, shooting everyone up just cause they're flying battleships (yes, that means you, Dab.. I won't allow it).
Lets keep it REALLY simple and say this...
FLY WHATEVER THE HELL YOU WANT TO!
Get it? I'm not gonna even get started on the admin burden of enforcing such a rule...

I'm not asking to enforce a rule like this, I'm trying to show how unfair it is to attack traders with battleships.
And Wolf, you can't stop people from attacking pirates either. Players are allowed to attack anyone they want to. So far I havent been attacking that many, but I have alot of free time now, and Pirate BSs are big fat targets that can't really hide.
Dab just stop trying to force your ideas onto others, ok?
Your starting to REALLY annoy alot of people.
So stop hijacking the thread.
Now this is sorted can we get back to dicussing why traders don't want to RP?
Before anyone starts ranting at me for the above sentence let me explain what I meant.
Traders do not EVER either drop cargo for pirates in fighters or hand over some cash to pirates in bigger ships, they ALWAYS just run away.
But traders do have some points about pirates.
Don't ask for a million credits just for yourself, cos they aren't gonna hand over that much to a lone pirate.
Ask for, at most, 500 k if your on your own. This is about the most you can expect for doing high level missions.
If your in a group ask for about 250 k each, so if theres three pirates do 250 k x 3 = 750 k, if they refuse you should have more then enough firepower to vape the trader before he gets to cruise speed.
If your a trader and want to be left alone SAY SO. Don't come onto the forums and start moaning about pirates.
These are NOT rule suggestions, just suggested guidelines to stop this stupid arguement and for pirate players to actually do some RP with traders.
