I reckon to make things easy.. all LSF personnel are allowed access.
This way non player faction players can also role player researchers
and or NY/Alaska defenders, as well as it makes it easier on the "guards".
If you are not LSF or Navy, you dont get in. Edit: unless you are Nomads.
(Then it comes down to who's skill / weapons prevails.)
Edit: haha below King. I skipped reading the thread.
Just read the first couple of posts.
The above is my unexplained opinion on who should have access to Alaska.

I think Serp sums up a lot of stuff, what was your mark in your persuasive essay?:P
Gafwmn, Xing, Mb52 and some others are all example of independents ROLE PLAYERS that have done the proper steps to be respected by the official factions.
The math is simple, you respect us and our laws, we will respect you. And you'll have to be patient, Thing like that don't happen in 5 seconds
However, I still feel that the clearance to Alaska should be monitored, to make sure we don't have any OORP indies going in there,,, (remember "Bloodmoon"?...) and some Indies that still barely understand the principles of RP.
when I play in game, I had a lot of players asking "Can I go in Alaska" in system chat... That is not proper RP.
The idea suggested by Mb52 on Li forces forums was nice and simple, me thinks it should be implemented, I invite all members of the said forum to go check the following link to know more about it: http://z15.invisionfree.com/Liberty_Secure...p?showtopic=307
One of our big problems with the defense of alaska is the communication... Mb52 solution might solve it and save us the trouble of going onto the forums and browse to see if "X" player is allowed in.
What would happen if someone who RP'ed a high ranking LSF agent tried to enter alaska without the permission of the LSF faction?
They in theory should not have to ask any kind of permission.

We do have very different goals. However, we also share some of the same exact goals. Even if the LN, LSF, and LPI combined into one mass faction to handle everything in Liberty….we still would not be able to handle it all.
If you'd be so kind to share them with us then? I mean - goals.
Quote:To understand the LSF you should research the CIA and their Special Activities Division, the FBI, the NSA, & DARPA for a start. The LSF embodies most of those agencies in addition to many more.
As you stated later, LPI - FBI, since there are no local police factions in FL.
So, that leaves you with foreign business and secret operations.
Quote:We have Agents in Rheinland. We have Agents in Omicron Alpha. We have Agents in Omicron Minor. We have numerous ongoing operations to gather intel, fund revolutionaries and insurgents, subvert and destabilize populations, and more. But they are secret both for RP reasons and playability reasons. Revealing them would mean many characters with a lot of work put into them would become useless. Hopefully in time once we have a nice big RP story to tell for each one, in addition to creating a replacement for them, we will reveal their stories.
That wasn't really my point. Spies are ok, but they are just a piece.
I meant like training and supporting enemies of your enemies.
It's done in the real world and it's a basic for every war preparation.
Don't get me wrong, I know it's really hard to find something different to do on LSF.
That's why I wouldn't call these posts "flaming", just some constructive criticism in order for that faction to work better.

This is so not true. Lawful forces in Liberty outnumber unlawfuls like 5:1 at least.
Anyway, I think you should spend more time in Alaska then you do now.
I also think that you should send agents to Omicrons to investigate Nomads.
Also, I think that you should send some agents to Rheinland to fight against RM on RHA/Bund side.
Just a symbolic number, like 2. I don't mean to bash RM out of the existence.
Of course, in RP, Liberty would deny connections with these people.
Similar thing could be done in Kusari to help the Bretonians. Situation is hot.
If Rheinland and Liberty go to war, it will be 2vs2, and they need to weaken Kusari first.
I mean, LSF is really hard to RP, but it probably has the most potential for RP.
It also has the largest ZOI, and it also has most possibilities.
As I said, constructive criticism. Don't shoot me.:)

Well....the same freedom that allows you to RP a high ranking LSF Agent also allows others, like the LPI/[LN]/=LSF=, to RP that you are a Rheinland Spy, or a Lane Hacker sabtuer, or a Xeno Terrorist, or a Nomad possessed loon, or an Order Agent, or just some crazy thats escaped from LPI Huntsville's psychiatric ward.
The free for all RP sword cuts both ways. Were will it end. Considering that there are dozens of others who have spent a great deal of time RPing as officials of Liberty it would make sense to start small and coordinate such RP story arcs as being a high ranking LSF Agent with those who have already spent a great deal of time working at being officials of Liberty.
You may want to try playing a regular LSF agent for a few weeks and build up relationships with the active officials in Liberty. Or try coordinating such things here in the forums or by pm here. I'm always up for assisting someone with RP. It's best to work the nuts and bolts out here first though. Tossing ideas around and having discussions in game is a total pain in the backside.
Or join the =LSF= for a few weeks and then have your agent break away from the agency.
If your idea absolutely positively has to be done right now and can not wait..........it's probably a bad idea.
I in no way took any of your posts as flames. They were all good points I wished to respond to. And you bring up more good ones now. I've got to do RL at the moment but will respond to them when I can.

You guys need to know that we can NOT see that discussion.
We can only do so if we sign up and im not about to do that
-for any reason. I'm not part of any Liberty lawful forces.
So for the sake of us who aren't party to that discussion could you please
copy and paste the relevant parts into this thread?
