During one of my reconnaissance missions, I've came across a Navy pilot named John Meyer in New York. Surprisingly, he wasn't very intent on shooting me on sight, but that was probably because I had a pirate and a Coalition fighter lingering nearby that would take advantage of the fight. He instead tried to talk into figuring out what exactly was Harmony, saying that he didn't believe the propaganda that probably flew around Navy ranks.
I wasn't able to retreat from that distance, cruise disruptors would've prevented any escape. I answered his questions about Harmony, turns out he was not in active duty during the backstab operation made by the Navy. He seemed interested in listening, but again, I'm not sure if it's because the situation prevented him from getting an easy target for his superiors. The pilot provided an encryption key for a transmission towards him with proof that we aren't just some group of traitors. Unbelievable.
I had to retreat moments after, as I've received a notification that patrols were mobilising. The Navy might have sent out a distress/alarm signal, so I managed to use the scrap field to cover the escape. I've rendezvoused with the stationed group in Cochrane Depot. This report should come along with the encryption key attached, should the higher-ups want to send a transmission to him.
I won't have the black box data of the conversation, the ship is suffering from system malfunctions half the time. I wouldn't be surprised if it starts breaking down soon...
On behalf of Battlegroup Harmony, and in thanks for this Glorious Struggle:
Lieutenant Commander Layla Whitaker, as a reward for meritorious service and gallant action on the battlefield, is being presented with a Brevet Promotion to the rank of Commander.
Additionally, Casey Jones has joined Battlegroup Harmony as a Probationary Officer. His actions will be closely monitored, though initial battlefield action promises a worthwhile future with Battlegroup Harmony for this Officer.
I am certain you still remember the situation in New Hampshire when we were looking for any assistance in our situation. Now we picked up Navy pilots on the way and our contacs with the Hackers and the Unioners are stabilising. If we like that or not matters little. We got a task and we need all the support we can get.
One of the groups back then, that we didn't contact yet again, is the Gaian movement in Bretonia. I am not certain what we can gain from each other but they have relations to more powerful groups and who knows, maybe they have plans and things to offer.
I need you to contact them and meet them in person. After this time I am sure they wonder if we still exist and what happened. They expended the resources to fly that far out as well.
Right, Rear-Admiral, or Admiral. I don't usually like to jump off the hierarchy chain of respect, but after listening to what I listened today, all I got to say is..
Are we playing soldiers? Or are we the real deal?
'Cause, I got pinged by those Rheinies from Bering as I was scouting California. Joined up their merry cruise in Texas. And when I say cruise, I mean cruisers. Three of them plus a cloaking gunboat. They somehow had the access codes to the Virginia gate, and surprises of frickin' surprises. They even knew the exact location of the Alaska jumphole that is more guarded than a virgin's pancake before prom night by the Spooks.
Now while that is enerving by itself, nevermind that they are Rheinlanders, the true cherry on top of the cake is that they had Alaska drawn out like it was their backyard.
Ma'am. Are we associating with the common thugs we used to fight, or are we doing something worth my life? Because I'm here because I fight for Liberty. This ain't it.
I've returned from the trip to Bretonia and managed to find a Gaian after some hours of searching Manchester. Against all odds, it was the same person that had flown to us in New Hampshire during the beacon call, Thomas Wallace of the Gaian Guard. He and the Gaians weren't aware of what happened, so I briefly explained our events after we were assaulted by the Hellfire Legion and their lackeys. They were still willing to talk with our leadership and see whether we could offer anything to one another.
Interestingly enough, they mentioned that they were actively fighting the Legion even in their home system and that we're like to meet them there, but I wasn't told where it was. I don't know where or what this Vespucci system is, but it might be useful if any of us have information about that area.
I've provided them an encryption key that I've been given, so Harmony should be able to send encrypted communications to them now.
I can assure you that none of our databases went out to the Unioners. The ships that are currently within their areas and maintained in their shipyard are well secured and their systems safe.
If the Unioners do indeed have data about Liberty's most well secured systems they must have acquired them elsewhere. I would also never approve an operation within those systems. An operation like that would not only be bound to fail but also cost us many lifes and assets.
The information about Zone 21 and Virginia are well secured and I will not give this secret out for a bit of supplies and repairs.
I hope you can rest assured that we are "the real deal" as you like to call it.
Now I cannot afford this kind of fighting withing our organisation. Are you still willing to fight for Liberty under my command, Lieutenant?
that was exceptionally fast. Thank you Commander. If Mister Wallace is still alive then this makes resuming those relations definitely easier. I don't know how the Gaians operate but if it is anything similar to the Unioners that loss of contact would have probably lost us their organisation then.
We will soon contact the Gaians for further information. If they fight the Legion we have a poin to start at and information about Vespucci would be more than welcome. The Navy wasn't well supplied with that.
Get your rest, I fear we will not yet be in a safe spot.
I signed my death warrant, a traitor in their inept eyes. But when Unioners state what they said.. We need to be careful about our friends. Never trust a Rheinie, or whoever else is brought to us. They only are interested in a weakened Liberty.
Nomads, infected are the threat. But please, don't forget humans are also a threat too.
First action: Fending off hostiles within the Texas system. One fighter confirmed destroyed by Unioner forces, rest routed.
Second action: Area control near Pacifica, 2 ships identified, 1 unknown due to range. First ship identified as Doctor Martin Weber of the University of Cambridge. Public data sent, the Unioners made sure though that he wouldn't give away our position.
Second ship identified as Order aligned Omicron Research group ship, Kusari Fighter, Designation "Princess". Public data handed out.
On behalf of Battlegroup Harmony, and in Thanks for your service during this Struggle, Struggle:
