Valve is a good developper in the fact it doesnt want to take all the cash from their customer like now most companies do.
They respect their customers while most other companies take them as walking dollar signs.
Hideo Kojima, if his studios make FL2, im certainly buying it, they'd be massve amounts of easter eggs. and 'd bet theyd somehow put snake into one of them..

If Hideo Kojima made FL2, I would facedesk onto a sharp pencil.
Imagine the crappy un-skippable cutscenes of FL1, but this time, more pointless, more Japanese and over 100 hours in length...

I think point is ... no one is playing good space sim because there is no good space sim ... most ppl forgot about freelancer and how good it is or they don't even know this game exists ... there isn't many of us who still play it , develop it and enjoy it.
I think if new Freelancer came out ... i think it would beat all competition and probably most of mmorpg gamers would try it and probably love it:D.
I wouldn't like blizzard to make it ( monthly payment:Di think they would use it on it ) ...

EA hm they are so concentrated to create new version of game each year so they publish stupid games why cant they take 2 years and make good game:D

imo best would be to keep most of freelancer game play in next part ... change in
better graphic ,
developed story to fit in disco story( that would be best) ,
maps same ( depends on story , best thing i heard was damkvosh or what ever is name comes back and , maybe destroys some systems , we found new ones and then we play , not sure how will mindshare work and nomads on battleship but let say nomads die:D),
land able planets i mean flying in atmosphere and landing manually ,
walking inside stations ,
walking inside battleships ,
each player has his point of view in battleship ( each have their own turret or set of turrets , captain controls ship and speed and stuff like that ,i mean at least 10 players on BS , captain , gunners, who knows )
ofc more ships , equipment , maybe some visual tweaks on ships military would have same ships but i mean freelancer and mercs could paint their ships in what ever color would they like ... most of those things would be good ... but it will never happen ;(

Valve has been making quality games (TF2, Half Life, etc..) but I'm worried that they might hamper the game's space engine.
Bioware would be my first choice. They have proven to be good designers for space games (KotOR, Star Wars Battlefront, etc..) and I'm excited for their upcoming MMO.
Volition (The fellas that did Freespace and Descent. As well as Summoner and Saint's Row) would be a good choice in way of skill, but they're a relatively small company ever since their breakup with Interplay. I'd like to see them do a Freespace 2, but I don't think they have the finance to purchase the rights from Microsoft, since they can't buy Freespace 3 rights from Interplay.
BioWare would produce an orgasmic sequel, I think.

NO WALKING PERIOD. I love the quick travel, click to talk function of FL. I like to get in, grab mission / repair, go. I don't want to search around for the NPC I have to find. Or, in case of multi, fight through a lag-blast on Manhattan to get to the ship dealer.
A test flight option, or rent-a-ship would be cool for fighters. Test the ship's feel before going in-game.
EVE Online's auto-flight function would be INVALUABLE. Now, this opens up complications like pirating AFK ships and powertraders, but when I think about getting on my trader now, I get sick.
I think it would be cool if Freelancer's 3d engine was more exploited. People still treat it like a flat-plane game in jousting and such. The only times that I have ever used the Z axis if I was SNACing or Smuggling.
