I'm sure there are ways to stop the OoRP traders, as people have suggested make human cargo more effective for liners and such, then reduce the size of the cargo hold, instant inRP trading only.
Jure wtf are you on about? Just lower it's cost bit. Why the hell should an usually immobile liner that has tendencies to stand in one place forever (ta-daaah all LL NPCs in game are bases) have increased thruster speed?
Also, if you love shire more, buy a shire. And 100mil isn't a problem in a game where you can grind that in one day. Lux Liner is beautiful and for roleplay purposes. I am sure that if one wants it, he'll get it. It beats all the luxury liners that used to pass trough omegas with alien organisms and deuteriums
Sure its for roleplay, and while roleplaying you plan on flying around or trade while roleplaying. But there are people who also roleplay a Pirate and want your money.
And some idiots who dont role play and just shoot at you.
"Who is it doing this synthetic type of alpha beta psychedelic funkin'?"
It just seems to me that everyone is against the Luxury liner because it is so often used for OoRP trading. Personally I've only ever carried human cargo, and only intend to, even though the profits are only at about 60% of what I could be earning with a transport. Isn't there a way to prevent OoRP trading? Considering this is a problem with not just one ship, but the entire liner class of ships. Just a thought.
There's no way to actually prevent human cargo unless they settle the commodity to be available for purchase only for OSC green rep people.
Noone is against luxury liner.
Their profits are awesome, 5k for 1000 vips, sell them for 15. I think that's clear profit there. Luxury consumer goods, tourists. Nice scenic routes trough entire Sirius.
Dont forget its a 2-way trip, the reverse trip only makes half as much money. I'm using a Luxury Liner with armor (only Cap V), and can only fit 800 VIPs, and the round trip makes 8mil there, and 4mil on the way back with passengers. That's 12 mil in total, and the trip takes over an hour. Great profit. Perhaps I shouldn't carry armor, you might add? Then I'd earn maybe 500k more, and a much longer trip being a risk averse trader taking longer routes to avoid pirating all together.
' Wrote:I agree. For the exorbitant price we shell out for them, Liners should seriously be better than other transports. Buff the shields, buff the armour, do whatever it takes to make them worth the money.
Worth the money? LUXURY Liner costs 200 million
to compare it with ships of similar cost/cargo:
Adv. Train: - same price
- +16% more cargo
- -50% armor
- -30% bots/bats
- -55% (5vs11) less turrets
- smaller powercore (don't have the number here)
Shire/Container Transport:
- -50% price
- -3% less cargo
- -16% armor
- -29% bots/bats
- 1 more turret (9% more)
- same powercore
So it's about equal to adv. train while Shire/C. Trans have better price/value ratio. That said the same is true for any transport ship smaller than 4.5k.
Luxury Liner right now is just fine as it can haul anything anywhere just like any other transport.
It could get some changes provided:
a) it is restricted to carry only human cargo (by game mechanics - so FlHook)
b) the passengers could be set to generate money for the time they spend on board
Igiss says: Martin, you give them a finger, they bite off your arm.
Yeah the both ideas would actually work if someone was to take the OSC bit further and propose some final and great ideas.
Pieguy?
Basically something like organizing the things for good. Aka, passenger commodity / refugees and slaves can be taken by any ship, tourists, vacationers , VIPs can be taken by Liner ships only.
OSC gets cash generated by flhook (2mil over hour?) for the period they have VIPs, vacationers, Tourists on their board.
Other liners don't or something.
Either way, who says that you have to have the best profit? Is this what the community boils down to? Will you as an sworn junker move to hogosha if they get better profits tomorrow?
Is those 1.5mil extra really worth completely changing your gameset, and mindset about that character? Of you just go with the money flow?
