Navy station firing on navy players because they do not change name?

Preventing freedom in game is a big deal, but preventing freedom on the forum is not? You asked for only admins to post... You're calling for mods to remove anything that (presumably) you deem as off topic...

I'm hearing the rallying call of freedom and liberty right now, Ryoken. It sounds a little like this...

Are you sure about that? I know it's set defensemode 0 (my bd is neutral) and it's not defensemode 1 with the massive whitelist workaround I created (base is neutral not allied). Hidden blacklist command?

I did not in any way say delete stuff i deem off topic. I said i trust the Mods will delete anything off topic, meaning they consider off topic. Again putting words in my mouth. Again attacking me, and not discussing topic at all. You want the for admins only removed? then fine it is done. But i swear next time i see a post directed to a faction, or group and i respond and people yell foul? Then i will show true rage, and probably get banned. The bias here is un-freaking believable.

Perhaps he shot it? I know when I'm bored I blow the guns off of its weapon platforms.

EDIT: ]bd[ member confirmed over skype it does not shoot them on sight.

I really don't see a problem with the base. It takes a 30 second PM at most to get on the list, then its done forever. The KSP put up one around New Tokyo that shoots tagged unlawfuls. Basically all it's doing is reinforcing NPC defenses that aren't powerful enough to actually hinder people.

I'd be interested in how they are doing that. I didn't think it was possible and if it is, I need to update the guilde. Please, PM if you have any info on how they are doing it.

Not a problem. I am against player bases or anything else that prevents freedom in game, or forces RP on others. That is IMO what this base is doing. I have said what i have to say. Those who want to discuss it go ahead. Those who want to attack it just because it is me who posted go ahead. Those who go off topic to attack me? Well i trust the mods to stop that, and delete off topic posts.

See that bold part there? Everything, everyone does in this game is forcing role play on others. If you were truly against forcing role play onto others, why are you even role playing? You're forcing your role play onto anyone you encounter.

I'm going to point out that the rule you cited doesn't even apply in this instance.

4.5 Official player factions are free to restrict or not restrict access to their owned systems and tax players who enter owned system. However, properly Tagged and ID'd independent players may enter Guard/Owned systems, and cannot be taxed. Access to systems that surround owned system must not be restricted unless there's a war with another faction.

Z21 and Alaska are not guard systems nor are they owned. Thus this rule doesn't apply.

This could be an issue under rule 4.7.

4.7 Official player factions have authority over players of the same NPC affiliation, as long as RP justification is provided. This authority applies in forums and in-game, and applies to player faction diplomacy, and strategic and tactical direction. However, exercise of that authority, on the forums and in game, is restricted to official faction members with the rank of the official faction leader and one rank below him/her. The authority may be exercised through the use of in-game in-RP orders, which, if not obeyed, can result in in-game in-RP consequences (arrest, court martial, and even "lethal" force in extreme circumstances). Official player factions cannot, under any cicrumstances, require another player to follow non-canon RP if that player doesn't want to.

Technically Joe could issue an order that requires every Navy ship to put on the LNS tag. But I would think that wouldn't actually fly under the intent of the rules.

Is it canon RP that every navy ship had the LNS tag? And this is really crossing into the slippery slope of at least giving the appearance of forcing people to join the faction.

So Alaska does not lead to LSF guard system anymore? Restricting access to Alaska restricts access to LSF Guard system to. So rule does apply. Also notice the word restricted, and not deny. So yes you can enter by going through fire from what should be a friendly base to all LSF or Navy ships. But that access is "restricted" .
Anything making it harder for the average player to do things allowed by his ID is restricting them. This base does exactly that. It forces them to Register ship names they may other wise not want known as played by that player. There are many reasons for this. Just look at sanctions for example where someone is shotdown by player A's dreadnaught, so player B later on go's and kills player A's train with a dreadnaught for revenge. Not go after A's Dreadnaught, but a completely different Character. That is why myself and others may not want to shout all our character names over the forums for all to see.
Another Example: I got billions in creds. A player finds out i have a freighter named"whatever" he knows I have billions so demands "20 mil or dai" with his pirate. You may say that will never happen, but players will/have done so.
Now Yorktown has been registered in past like 5-6 times. People all know it is my ship, but i choose not to have all my other ships know, as in past they have attacked my LSF, and LPi ships for revenge on me for what i did with Yorktown. Anyone understand this? We all know how much people metagame here, or use game mechanics as an advantage to know stuff that a character should not know.

Thank You. Someone who gets where i am coming from. I know i suck at expressing myself on the forums, but this is what i am trying to get at. This bases location, and who it fires at is forcing players to do something they may not want to do. To follow non-canon RP.
