So basically you want to fly a liner but not fine with them being not enough OP? Sure, of cause you won't like what people say.

And, oh wow, liners are not transports. They are transports because game mechanics says so. There is no "Liner" game mechanics. So they are transports and will be dealt with as with transports, deal with it.

P.S. Also I find it funny that I'm actually agreeing with Hid's last post.

Liners are tranports, transports built to transport people.

Game doesn't need realism, or correct balancing, just give all transports admin shields and maybe all the traders will be happy.

If you give Liners cruiser shields, what are pirates going to pirate in? Yes, that's right, Cruisers. A bigger shield and gunboat guns aren't going to help, if pirates want to kill you, they will.

With the new buffed transport guns, most pirates have already switched to a GB, start buffing them even more, we'll start seeing every pirate flying a cruiser, good luck hunting pirates in a gunboat now!

It's easier to kill a trader in a GB now, that it was to kill a trader with a bomber in previous version, so it hasn't helped, you might like those transport gun buffs, but because pirates have switched to GBs, you're now even worse off.

Not sure if you realise that the entire game is "just numbers", and hell, these games started off as "just numbers" on a screen or playing board.

its "just numbers" that make up absolutely everything about the game in most circumstances, who cares if you have a gun that shoots at 10.00 with 100000000 damage per shot and 99999ms speed, hell its just numbers after all, dont worry about it.

as Curios said, there is no Liner class, a liner is a transport, and should therefore have transport class equipment. last thing the server needs is more cloaking liners, especially cloaking liners with cruiser shields and gunboat guns. lmao.

Cruiser shields for liners is the last thing we need, I don't want to see luxury liners hauling ore all the time.


Simply what liners need is flhook magic making them the only ships able to carry human cargo, with proper price adjust for all those VIP, Tourist, Vacationer and other commodities.

The only way so far is to make None-Human cargo perish at epic rate when loaded in Liner and Human cargo to perish in epic way when loaded in Transport. Except for slaves maybe, slaves should perish at slow rate inside the transport so they can be smuggled while not perish at all inside the liner.

However this makes liner into the transport that carry out specific cargo - for game it's still the transport. So it'll have transport stats.

Zoners indeed, but I don't think the Hogosha or the Farmers Alliance are very neutral to the GMG. And they are directly in the neighbourhood. Wink

So yeah, totally defenceless ships are stupid if you are not a Zoner. In RP wise, a Transport should have a very good shield and a big hull and MAYBE a few good Turrets against fighters. For the big boom they have escorts. Same story with Liners. I think we can all agree, that a Prison Liner full with dangerous criminals, will always have a fighter escort and atleast one GB with it.

Balance wise i think a liner should be able to win a fight against a single fighter or bomber. Nothing more. It shouldn't be over the top, just because some lonely power traders needs more firepower. This is a Multiplayer gamer after all. And i don't want to bring up the "Hire escorts and/or scouts" argument.

But alI in all i think we'll never find a perfect solution for the Balance / this is a RP server problem.

My stance since 2008 - any transport should die to a single average VHF if caught in the middle of any trade lane in the game.
