True.

A way a lone a last a loved a long the riverrun, past Eve and Adam's, from swerve of shore to bend of bay,
brings us by a commodius vicus of recirculation back to Howth Castle and Environs.

Not really - you'd just have a -massive- concentration of pirates and traders on one tiny stretch. Remember the Harris disaster?

I always knew those damned Junkers were hiding something.

They kinda, y'know, blend in with space... which also happens to be black.

Actually, the bright thing you see in the core of a galaxy is actually a very close concentration of stars, very unstable and uninhabitable.

Black holes are completely black, you can see them only because they block the light from the stars behind them.

Black holes are detected in several ways. observing light pattern around suspected black holes, accretion disks, gas jets, radiation observances, etc.

Jumpgates could very well be the result of Ageira observing jumpholes, combine with technology from the Valhalla cache, combining. They seem to make one-way jumpholes, instead of regular jumpholes which are two-way streets.

Jumpgates, if you watch their animation closely, seem to mimic the creation of a phase-aligned jumphole (you can't quickdock, do the normal dock from 2k away).

I like the explanation of the dark-matter cloud incident, whereby an unstable jumpgate-created jumphole brought material through instead of sending material out, and being an un-targeted jumpgate (no corresponding gate on the other side), created a jumphole in an untargetted dark-matter nebula.

All these conditions combine to cause a flood of dark matter to flow out of the wrongly-directionalized jumpgate. The dark matter combine with the already unstable hole created by the jumpgate with cataclysmic results.

Actually, encording to the extra backstory, jumpgates were the result of tech learned from the Valhalla project.

In all probability JHs are the remains of old Dam'kavosh jumpgates or a bi-product of them, possibly even a separate experiment.
