ended up getting constantly owned in that werewolf city by.. get this.
elven spirits and whatnot. First that frikkin dragon, i took him down.
then the spirits and arcane warrior and whatnot. then that teleporting spellcaster that just kept eating my party.
Elven spirits? There are a few, but they're only involved in side quests. The things that used to get me in werewolf city were first the Dragon (Which I now slay on every new startup with relative ease. Just godda know how) then a huge skeleton swarm right after the Divinter boy ghost disappears. Nothing alistair, sten, and health potions don't fix.
And yeah, mages can give you huge advantages and disadvantages. It's all about balancing that out with your party. If you've got a mage as hero, I suggest giving him or her healing magic followed by Alistair, Sten as battering rams, then either the rogue girl with a bow or Morrigan/Wynn. Two upfront, two in the back.
I love the game. I am the Spirit Healer right now, with Pure CONS/STR Alistair as tank, Magic Morrigan as damager, and my Mabari, "Blooddrinker" as heavy support melee.
Finished it. Was in Awe. O.o'd for like 15 minutes after. Was in trance for 30 more. Now movies and games can effect me quite a lot on some levels, this was still a great exception. Kudos to Bioware.
I have a level 25 Arcane Warrior, and I'm capable of soloing just about anything not heavily populated on Normal.
Wearing full Dragon Blood Plate, a sword that I forgot what it is but it's for A Warriors, and some shield. Gotta love popping Blizzard, Inferno(Unsure if that's the name.), and Tempest on a mob.
I'm heavily stacked on Magic, have a decent amount of willpower, and more constitution than Alistair does, and he's 24 and my tank.:D
Just got into the ruins specifically to get the bloody Arcane Warrior specialization. Not having any real trouble inside, just those fire-immune enemies are a pain... Inferno doesn't work, which makes me sad faic D:

Happened to me too. Rebalance your party if you can. Sten, Alistair, and either Morrigan with heal or Wynn will do the trick regardless of what you are. Just go back out of the ruin (a walk of a few minutes) and find a spot where the part icon flashes.
