Although seeing from the passion this thread has in it, I am sure there is that one guy who is frustrated by it enough to help out, and has the means to help out.

I was talking about a situation in which a Rheinland authority could prove that the wrecks there were looted by the individual (as they are Rheinland property), not that the Rheinland police should go out and sit next to the wreck-- if they could do that, the wreck wouldn't still be there!

Currently, it is not illegal there.
Ergo, if a police character tries to demand them from you--he's pirating, not confiscating.
Why wouldn't it be illegal to steal government property from the governments?
He's not pirating, he's taking back what you stole from his country.
That said, Kusari, Liberty, Bretonia shouldn't care about, for example, JADE and ONYX, as those are looted from Rheinland wrecks. Liberty should care about Liberty wrecks, Kusari should care about Kusari wrecks, Bretonia should care about Bretonia wrecks. Etc.
Not everything's fair in real life or in this game, some people are gonna get the codies like that. But i do see the dilemma, because if this keeps up code weapons are going to begin to be subject to inflation (Lol, freelancer economy..)
I know it's against the rules, but it would seem to make sense in a role-play manner that you could still demand the weapons from the civilian for a number of different reasons, i just wish it wasnt a sanctionable act due to our ID's.
When you think about it, as a non-police affiliated pilot you could easily play it off as general greed and want, and demand a weapon from them. I think it should become a rule that if anyone has code weapons on them, unmounted, that they are a target and can be treated as one, there are dangers in life and flying around with extremely valuable merchandise as such should be one too.
Think about it, if they're going to be pesky and abuse the game in such a way, then i think they're ready to deal with a gun being pointed at them for something that they barely even worked for. It's only... Somewhat fair.
I mean even the police would want the weapon, whether its for the purpose of keeping the peace, or using it as a tool to bolster your own organizations power, there are plenty of reasons people would want the (Irl, and RP..)

Thanks, I love awards, I'll add that to my collection.

You cannot prove that the gun was taken from the wreck unless you were sitting next to the wreck when the person took it, unless you want to take into account the fact that the guns can only come from that wreck, in which case those guns should be illegal always, even if mounted.

I don't know, why don't you ask the people who wrote the laws posts why they didn't include that?

Without seeing someone take it, you have no proof that he took it.

Sure, if you're a pirate and make a demand first.
If you just blow them up, that *is* against the rules.

How can you think of me breaking the rules ?
Just sayin' I got several codes by shooting not by looting ( though it really feels the same ), I can demand the weapon, the CSV or whatever codehunter will never comply, trust me, this technique is efficient.

I'm not accusing you of breaking the rules. I'm just pointing out that if you shoot them without the required RP/demand beforehand (which your original post seemed to suggest), it's against the rules.
That's all I've been saying for this entire thread.
Could increase the amount of codes a wreck will produce. Maybe have them respawn a code every couple of hours vs only on a restart. Give more people a chance to acquire them on their own.
