What about having an inferno to desheld and full pack of hullbusters to deal more damage, you can also evade more while trying to inferno the shields saving own shield from takeing damage, dude.

Used to have inferno but then I found sunslayer missiles. Titan + 2 debs rest 650ps and sunslayer = ownage.
And I think titan is the best VHF there is, but thats just me

But on that note I am also not sure where you read me having tried to pick the Inferno as awesomesauce. Lets try to read the relevant line of my post again. Perhaps it got lost in the hectic forum life.

But one cannot say the tizona is generally better than the inferno, or that the inferno is generally better than the tizona. Both are good (or bad) in specific situations. And that is exactly how it is meant to be to my understanding of things.

To my understanding this statement makes it clear that neither weapon is awesomesauce (or bad). Each weapon is good in specific situations.

Now, personal experience tells me i rather have Tizzies than Inferno any day of the week, in any situation.
Plus, you people are still comparing a torp to a class 9 deshielder.
Inferno, apart of not serving any real bonus, makes you lose flexibility in combat.
Tizzies do not.

As for the Sallies? I'm not really bothered, since i am used to a lot of different ships, cores and guns.

Inferno was ok back in 4.85 against GBs. Sabre agility.

So you have an advantage on the first turn, if you can surprise your opponent. Maybe a little advantage on the following few, the shield of even a dodging VHF isn't that hard to hit in a 1vs1. Then what? You don't even have a CD. You can't keep your opponent from running, you can't stop him from spamming mines, you don't even have a CD to blow up your own mines at the right moment. Trying to shoot away that bit of regenerated shield every 12 seconds with the Inferno isn't a great idea either. I'm not sure if you've tried it, but while the Inferno is a fun tool to mess around with when you want to try something else, it's really not a shockingly useful asset for snubfights. It's somewhat good against caps, but that's it.

I'd wager a bet that mini razors would be as much of a rare sight as Infernos if they couldn't potentially instakill a snub.

Edit: If you're not convinced, let's agree to disagree, I just noticed the usefulness of an Inferno has almost nothing to do with corsair guns.

P.S. I kinda have no problems with people using different styles for fighting. I saw people using well and bad the cd\mine, inferno, mr, etc so you can't just imagine the fight in your head and say what is good and what not.

Yes, i think the Inferno came in not as a balancing issue between del Cids and the Inferno but as "how many goodies does your mirror faction have" kind of thing. As stated before it is an option to play around with no matter what - though the original topic was about a second hullbuster line for the sairs.
And i think i issued some decent pointers in the first post of this merge out thread why i think it would be very well possible and balanced as well.
On the con side you can read up on Blodos very reasonable response- the guys have more then a little bit of work to do and yes, corsair ships fly and you can shoot things with corsair equipment, too- so i can feel for our balance devs that it is not their main focus at work. Still, pointing out issues and keeping it in peoples heads is a good thing,
the same goes for dusting off outdated opinions and debunking myths and such... fresh air and fresh thinking is neccessary to keep such a classic game alive even if it might get uncomfortable to those that dislike change.
