Nonna turns and looks at the man standing next to her. "I am not a Kapitan." At that, she picks up the bottle and glasses and returns to the table.
"What took you so long?" Katyusha says as Nonna pours two large portions of vodka. "The young man at the bar tried to, what is the word the libertonians use?. Da, he tried to 'hit' on me."
"Na Zdorovie". Both down their drinks in one go. "Some people certainly are bold." While Nonna pours another round, Katyusha looks around the bar. Some workers drinking, nothing unusual about that. a few of the rezident 'raiders' around the bar. Katyusha dismisses them as well. But 2 people in the bar catch Katyusha's notice. One of them, a junker by his clothing and the dirt and grime on his face. "Junkers. filthy people. driven by money, like all capitalists. Dont you agree?" Nonna observes.
"Da. They will do anything for money, and are to be viewed with suspicion." The other person is a girl sitting with one of the raiders. late teens or early twenties, with bright pink hair. "That one. Typical of the excesses of capitalist society." Katyusha says as she gestures towards the girl.
Matilda listened. "The reason they hate people like me due to our wealth and status."
She sits down. "So New Vancouver is still under construction then?"
She takes a sip. "I might move there one day perhaps when I am near my due date."
She pauses. "Though I will have to talk to David about it."
She looks at Yoran's empty glass. "You want another one?"
She notices the Coalition pilots are taking to her. "They are mocking me!"
The Junker took the card. He'd just been given 10 whole drinks for free, he didn't even have to threaten anyone to get them.
Observing the patrons, he explored for a patron worthy of both discussion and his time.
He picked up a fellow patron's speech. "Junkers. filthy people. driven by money, like all capitalists. Don't you agree?". He turned towards the speaker and eyed his gaze. He began to approach her. The Junker, taking offense at those words, began to speak. "How the mighty have fallen. Don't you agree, coalition pilot?" He grinned. "Once great and mighty, you are now spending your time in a bar. How humorous". He took out a napkin from his coat pocket and began to wipe the grime off his face. "This napkin is awfully dirty, don't you agree?" He said, looking at the napkin. "However, I wonder, what are your napkins like? Are they still stained with the mark of failure? The mark of defeat?" He chuckles to himself, then throws the napkin onto the table.
"Orange juice and keep it coming please" The Junker says as he turns to the bartender. "So, Mr. Bartender, what is this fine establishment exactly? Let's just say I'm new to the area".
The bartender turns around, opens a fridge, and procures a litre jug of orange juice.
"This here is the Razor's Edge Pub, an open-to-all-until-you-start-a-fight drinking and social establishment aboard the wonderful and newly-renovated Seasons Base, home of the Vagrant Raiders and spacebound operations headquarters for Natio Octavarium's various ministries and divisions. The station's a bit sparse at the moment, but there are regular free-of-charge shuttles going down to the planet's surface and back every hour, in case you want to check out the beautiful city of New Vancouver."
"No vodka please, getting drunk isn't a good idea for me" He replied.
"Ah, so this is the Vagrant Raiders base of operations, Hm?" He quickly observed the bar once more "It does seem like a nice place here".
"And there's a city? Wonderful, I'll be sure to touchdown there if I have time" He takes out a datapad and pen from his pocket and writes something down. "Mr. Bartender, who are the Raiders anyway? Is there anything you could tell me about them?".
George enters in full Victorian finery. "Now where is.... ah" He spots his sister.
Walking over to the bar he looks around. "Seems to be like a freeport bar."
He makes it to the bar. "Gin and Tonic, no ice"
After he gets his drink he moves to Matilda's table. "Hello Matilda how are you and David?"
He turns. "Mister Thollan." He nods.
Yoran looks again at the Coalition couple;"Well, I don't know, they probably just have some steam to vent, like many people nowadays. I doubt they could possibly have something against you personally."He then notices the arrival of Matilda's brother:"Oh, good evening mister Antioch, how nice to finally meet you in person"Yoran says as he offers him his hand,"I just heard the good news from your sister, it was nice to know that your familiar issues have come to a... peaceful settlement."
He shakes Yoran's hand. "Yes it did, Father was blinded due his narcissism."
He pauses for effect. "But when he saw that he was slowly killing Matilda he stopped."
He takes a sip of his drink. "Ah the good news yes, guess who has to pay for it." He laughs. "As long as Matilda is happy I don't care about the money"
As George takes a drink Matilda asks. "Really George, you are willing to do that?" "Aye I am, you know that I can make millions in an hour if not minutes."
George turns as he hears the Coalition speak. "Strange, I thought they would blow this place up?"
He sees that one is very small. "Is that a child or do my eyes need adjusting?"
