In the manhatten bar Tom's attention was brought to a news bulletin on the bombing of fort bush that had almost happened a week ago. This had been the first he had heard of the news and was not extremely moved by what had happened.
"Almost a week after the Fort Bush bombings recent investigations have uncovered...."
Tom turned his attention towards his drink for a moment before bring his attention back to the news palette.
"....Both the LSF and Liberty Police Incorperated are working in a joint effort to further investigate how this group may have been linked to the attacks. Breaking news will be reported throughout the day...."
Tom was not concerned by those who had died but instead was more interested in the job opertunities that would present themselves after this catastrophe. Sinking deeper into his fourth round of liquor he scrolled the tablet down to other news.
Matt Myers jolted as the comm frequency opened and what he took for a member of the Order began speaking. He had thought they were going to ignore him.
"Well, you're a little late," he says slowly, "our 'spy' kinda disappeared or summat... you got something in mind?"
"Well Mr. Myers, I think you had a good plan. Toledo ignored you, however, the Horus and the Pharosa are welcome to help you. Sure you want to scrap the plan? We're already in Alaska..."
It was true, the Horus, with the gunboat Pharosa next to her, hovered cloaked about 25k from Fairbanks. Now for another wait.
Hull sat at his desk answering questions from new and potential recruits, helping them get started in the LPI. Posters had been printed and delivered, and message traffic from potential recruits was filtering in, and new policies were written to handle things.
I wonder what was on the Laptop I gave to Marx. After she read it, it looked like 15 of her stitches had popped out. Pain and sorrow did not suit her.
More worrisome was the news from the daily briefings form the LPI and LSF intel branches. Message traffic from less than reputable organizations was up, but nothing that would point to who had perpetrated the bombing.
Hull had a nagging feeling that this wasn't over by a long shot.

Jim was sitting at his desk perusing the plans for Attica. Technically he wasn't supposed to have them, buut...He really wanted to see what it was going to be like. Besides, he needed to make sure that they'd remembered the cell labeled "Fort Bush Bombing Mastermind".
They had. Jim stuck the blueprints back into the drawer and stared at the ceiling. EMP fields, SWAT security teams, and security so tight a flea would feel cramped.
Perfect.

<span style="font-size:10pt;line-height:100%]"Computer, open dictation protocol" said Hull O'Brian
"Ready Deputy Chief" replied the computer terminal.
"Several weeks have gone by, and it seems that the trail is growing cold. It seems that every whack job in Liberty is claiming responsibility for the bombing of Fort Bush, but none of them seem to have the ability, much less the mental capacity, to pull the job off. More than once a call claiming responsibility was traced to a mental hospital...."
"Deputy Chief Markey was still recovering from his injuries, Fredro Guajardo quit due to personal issues, and Marx Myers, who had been gut shot and survived, had quit and rumored to have defected to the Liberty Rogues."
"Add all that to a declared war between Liberty and Rhineland, and all you got was one big Frakkin mess."
"It looks like this investigation is going to go in the cold case files unless we get a a decent break...."
"Computer, end dictation routine." Grumbled Hull
"Acknowledged Deputy Chief"
Time to go get a stiff drink and see if I can contact a certain Redhead on Curacao.
