ye it gets annoying for me as a pirate to have people running away without saying anything  but it also gets annoying for pirates to shoot at me without saying anything. Don't you see people? It's a cycle! The more one side pisses the other off the more the other will do the same thing back.
If you want people to stop this stupid trader vs pirate debate get your act together
When pirates start asking reasonable sums(and by reasonable i mean We are all just having fun reasonable, not RP reasonable, because in RP pirate can demand tax and then blow you up for your cargo all the same) then traders will start RPing a little more, understand pirates, reason why trader is not RPing is because he is afraid he will lose an hours worth of his work, if he was sure that what he will pay is small portion of what he will make he would be a lot more cooperative.
I saw you walking down the streat, your eyes, your lips, your nose, everything was so perfect. I started singing "who let the dogs out."
No one side is at fault here, there are people on both sides of the fence that are been turds. On one side you have the 2millordai pirates that do absolutly no RP whatsoever, on the other side you have the silent traders that usually arn't on the server to RP but to power trade to a battleship and then lolwut around. If both sides played fair then there would be no problem but thats not the case, so no matter what side you are on you just have to do your part and try to set a good example.
Pirates, dont ask for massive sums of money. If you are in it for the money why not just go trade or smuggle? I pirate for the fun and usually only ask for around 100 000 to 500 000 depending on level.
Traders, if a pirate asks you to "cut your engines and prepare to be boarded" or something like that, then go along with it. RP is fun (and what this server is for) and it usually ends better that way for everyone involved.

Problem as a trader is always: Is this a lolpirate ? Will he shoot after 10 seconds ?
That problems occurs so often when meeting pirates not part of an off.faction or known roleplaying faction ( like the Renegades )

Well the first person I've pirated (hopefully it won't be the last :P) I had just asked him if he had time for a 'chat'
So we were flying along side each other at normal impulse speed while discussing where we were from and that he was a wealthy man and I was not, I then asked him if he would make a 'donation' to my cause, when we reached the trade-lane he went on his merry way and I was up 2.5mil
The nice thing was that I didn't specify a price, hell I would've been fine with 500k.
Now I don't think that will happen to often but I think thats how pirating should go most of the time (unless they try to run of course :D)

piracy is overdone, and overdone with no finesse or care about the person being pirated.
*shrug* welcome to disco.
If you let the victim more then 4-5 min before he comply your demand there is 95% chance that all his skype friends will log in order to gank your pirate with various characters ignoring all kind of RP background( Corporate traders using Jumpholes, Corporate escorts/bounty hunters camping the unlawful bases) so the currnet game mechanics and the metagaming/powergaming does not allow to do it otherwise, except if you fly bomber or fighter and then still if you want to pirate only not to PvP the lawfuls.
Cool pirates take 3000 cargo per victim in their P transp having 300 space for armour and 100 for RP items.

And seriously, aren't all pirates in trouble anyways ?
I once had the CR giving me 3 Millions. I think even Panzy flipped some Credits into the pod.
Also, my little tip, if you already robbed someone and he played the whole thing very nice, sparing him at the next encounter that day is good to encourage some good traders.
