==================== RULE:1.5 Meta/powergaming QUESTION: Does using the player list in game to identify a player or group's location and pursue interaction with them count as metagaming in this rule? ==================== ADMIN/MOD ANSWER:Use of the playerlist as a guide to who is where is not considered metagaming rule-wise, but many players may frown upon you using it as such. ~DarkTails

No. Some people call it "Shadowlogging", but this isn't against the rules. If they inRP know of your position based on the playerlist, that is considered metagaming however. In most scenarios inRP, it's usually a case of bumping into someone on the street, as it were.
==================== RULE:4.4 Every char must have only one type of ID equipped and they must play to that ID. Ship and equipment infocards which specify their use on a specific ID or specific ship must only be used on that ID or ship. In all other cases where these restrictions and allowances conflict with the server rules, the ID overrides the rules except as described in 4.5 QUESTION: I've heard it both ways, so I have to ask. Is the ID itself considered something that is "broadcast" and visible to other ships, or is only the IFF visible from an inRP perspective (i.e., if you have a faction where the IFF and ID don't match, does your character see both, or just the IFF)? ==================== ADMIN/MOD ANSWER:

Question:The Id's state: "the pilot carrying this ID is a...." If I have an Id, can I roleplay my character as having no affiliation with the organization in question (and will explicitly answer questions such as "but you're flying a bowex IFF?" with "oh, sure, but that registry lapsed years ago", is that a violation of the rule, if I am otherwise not[/size] breaking the rules restrictions of the ID nor the rephack?
Hi admin team, Can you please clarify and make it easier to understand this conflict and potential contradiction with two server rules.
==================== RULE: (S)
4.3 Docking during combat with hostiles in docking message range (15k) counts as PvP Death, except for transports. If a player combat docks in a transport they may remain in the system for the sole purpose of trading only. They may not attack anyone unless in self defense. This restriction lasts for two hours.
4.1 If you die whilst in a PVP situation, in any form, you are considered as ''PVP Dead''. A PVP Dead player must: Leave the system the fight took place in for one hour. You must not carry cargo while doing so and must not engage in any player interaction while you are leaving. Other players must allow a PVP Dead player to leave the system.
Not re-enter the system they died in on any of their characters for one hour.
Not attack the player/players they died to on any of their characters for one hour.
QUESTION:
As you can see, with rule 4.1 i've made it italic, it basically says that they have to leave the system for one hour, the player must -not- carry cargo while doing so and must not engage in any player interaction while leaving. It does not clarify if this is for all ship classes, or if it excludes transporters/frieghters/miners.
Now if we go to rule 4.3 this is more for the transporters, which basically says that if a transport docks during a pvp interaction they can undock and remain in the system, transporting for the pure purpose of trading. So that makes them eligable for piracy once more.
So with this for an example if Pirate and Trader where in the same system and Pirate demands the Trader to drop all of their cargo, the trader refuses so the pirate engages. Then the Trader manages to dock, then undocks with full regens, the pirate then demands the trader to drop all cargo, trader refuses, the pirate engages, so the trader docks and this becomes a vicious circle, is this not against the server rules. Or is it classed as a form of trolling on the pirates behalf or even the traders behalf. Is this actually allowed.
Please clarify this.

From what I remember, the thumb rule pointed out by Admins was that you had full right to re-engage traders (that docked and undocked) without any further roleplay due to rule exempt - as traders de facto weren't PVP dead, so the engagement did not end.

1.4 *Adult content* or links to it; This also includes any anime that is in any way graphic or pornographic QUESTION: What constitutes "Adult content"? What constitutes "vulgar" or "obscene" materials? Too often, I see posts (Mostly in Shoutbox, but sometimes in non-Flood, non-RP forum sections) that push the boundaries of these two rules. In some cases, I feel that these rules are being utterly ignored/broken by a number of individuals, and yet, because of the devolution of what's OK to say on TV, it seems that these rules are routinely forgotten.
Can we have a list of things that are NOT okay to post? Far too often, I see posts that are not only suggestive, but use downright vulgar words and/or terms, and yet no one seems to police this because the Community lacks a "Do-Not-Post" list of words to reference. ==================== ADMIN/MOD ANSWER: (---)
Just a small nudge to make sure this one isn't forgotten. It's been 9 months, so I figured I'd check-in and see if this is still being deliberated upon.
