It is just Ontario. If they have there revolution, let it be. It's bound tofail or be destroyed by the Liberty Navy.
Why not sit back and enjoy the situation instead of getting all so worked up about it.
Yes some people didn't know. But LPI and other Liberty factions don't just operate out of Ontario....
In short.... What is the big deal besides not being told? Freedom! It's not like Katz is even RPing that the system seceded yet. Instead of channeling anger at him, perhaps we can channel it into our RP? No doubt people in the real Sirius would be angry that Ontario is seceding, so why is there this need to bicker?
All of this is why I completely abandoned free-form RP years ago. It only works if someone uninvolved is actively moderating or 'game mastering' it, and even then it can get touchy.
Quote: Now, when extended surveys proved the presence of valuable mineral resources in the system, Toronto was constructed to house corporate workers, miners, police, and civilian authorities.
Ok, you got me on that point. However it isn't stated that it is a mining station in the infocard. I'd still question the fact that a station would have room and the facilities for such luxury. Ice rinks require alot of space, I'd suspect that entire space station would be required solely for it... Minor points either way... it wouldn't affect what happened, as the "meeting" / announcements could have been made in a cargo bay or something.
Moving on:P
Quote:Both the LN, LPI, and nearly all factions origionally involved have NPC factions. We do not need a player faction's permission to role play such.
No.. its a respect thing. I'd respect your RP, you should respect ours. It doesn't hurt to speak with those being affected by your RP before doing it.
Iâll carry this flag
To the grave if I must
Because itâs flag that I love
And a flag that I trust
This thread has no further point, I think. We have a chat, but it seems like avrg is considering simply abandoning it now because of how it's turning out. I doubt he will, but still.
Lesson: communication is key
Lesson: a little pre-planning never hurt anyone. Honest, if arvg came to me with an idea for Ontario to secede, or at least to run for governor of Ontario, I would've been all for it. I'm sure Joe would have too. This had the potential to turn out nicely. Now in-RP Matt wouldn't have liked it, and I would have resisted, but with some forethought this could've led to a house of Ontario.
Hope we all got those couple of lessons. Blunt, for god's sake, stop being an ass. I'm not saying "new" people aren't allowed to RP like this. I'm not saying that we should be elitist like that. What I'm saying is that we should talk about it and think it through with both sides first.
EDIT: As OP, I agree with avrg. This has gone on long enough, lock.
Double edit: Also, the bomb card has been played and acknowledged. Not your action, but those of your allies. Legit move, shouldn't be taken off IMO.

And how should new players know this?
How should more experienced players know this, actually? There is a forum section for RP, but there isn't a 'Here is where all RP should be planned beforehand, on pain of being lynched.' section.
Regardless, there was no secession. There was a campaign for secession, just like there have been campaigns in-game to legalise pot. That never required any notice beforehand.
Oh yes, you have avrg playing Katz, you got the LRF, you got the Consortium and Watsas' convoluted whatever, you got... Aidan playing an indy LPI? Funny how the others all get official factions, even Katz has the SCRA behind him, and the LPI is left with one person who has a very small say in the direction the LPI chooses to run with it.
It doesn't matter how many get involved, but that the right ones do. I have a say in the LPI policy, not Aidan, and I should've been informed of what was going on.
