I've always thought it would be cool if any of our modelers could figure out how to manipulate animations on these ships.
Vanilla ships all have an imbedded animation that controls their cargo hold doors which open whenever one jettisons something. If that code could be unearthed somehow then we could do animations for any ship we want, including making those neat arms move around whenever the ship tractors something in...
not that it matter too much but my 2 cents:
I'd like to have this cool looking ship in-line with the Luxury Liner or similar, which means:
- cargo around 3.500
- firepower around a gunboat (lot of transport or few cruiser (or why not GB then?) turrets)
Since I don't have pirating on my agenda I don't care about its license.
I can only say what i have given to this ship when coding it:
So the Junker luxury liner:P has for the moment 2500 holdsize, 200K armour, cruiser shield and 6 cruiser turrets (5 forward, 5 backward, 4 to each side and 3 up and down), but a powerplant with 600K power output only (was the consense of balancing team).
Number of bats and bots are the same as for any other cruiser. 4 - 5 times more of them, as planned by Jinx, would be a bit unbalanced for a ship with this firepower.
However, those settings might pend along with testing and balancing.
I also improved the mat file a bit to get the windows lighting.
ya - that sounds OK. - appears the original concept with around 4500 bats / bots ... but basicly no other purpose than that wasn t popular... so its now nothing but a transport. i don t know if i have written an ID for it ( or at least a suggestion ) - but i guess, if its not a repair ship mk2, we can as well make it less strict. - junkers might distribute such a ship to others, too.
its classified a cruiser anyway ... so traders cannot use it.

I think that's the idea. The frigate will probably be a 'psuedo-capship' for junkers. it isnt quite as powerful as a normal cap, but it's also more useful for trading due to higher cargo space. It gives the junkers something to defend their bases with, but doesnt take up a ton of resources without being able to still perform scrap collecting and black market trading roles.
Junkers are all about hybrid ships, they might not have the best in any class but they're definitely versatile.
